Thank you very much. I can understand what you mean, looking at it from your point of view. I guess it's a bit hard to tell, but the car is meant to be turning around the corner in the instant here. A lot of Lower East Side streets are one-way, so it wouldn't be on the wrong side of the road

Thank ya, thank ya. Looking at it today with a fresh pair of eyes, I like it more. I do study photo/film references a lot, but I have to make concessions to save time/sanity. I guess the process for an illustration and a comic page shouldn't be the same. I've been trying to find the right balance

Redid the lines and colours multiple times over the course of a couple months in an attempt to save this one. I still think it's a little weak. Marie blends into the background too much.

Another concept piece as I try to figure out how to improve my backgrounds

1930s scene of a cartoon girl crossing a street and telling a cat, "ya gotta stay vigilant, kid. This city will eat you alive if you ain't careful!". She's too busy playing with a yoyo to notice the Ford Model A slamming on the breaks to avoid hitting them.

Thanks again :-) I am going to try and keep at it. I think I've gotten decent at cartoons and caricatures, but I need to get a lot better at making scenes that feel cohesive. Tbh I think that's something you're really good at--making very elaborate, detailed scenes that are rich in atmosphere

I do appreciate the interest. If I end up with a few more unfinished pieces, I might post them all together at some point, but they're not worth sharing atm lol. When I say "scrapping", I just mean archiving it and moving on to the next drawing. I try not to delete things often

All good, Tinkercad seems handy. Blender would be wise for me to learn in the long run but I just can't ever bring myself to do it lol. CSP's model importing is super convenient, though I don't think you can do any modelling in the program. Maybe real simple things.

I've used Lara Jill Miller's voice in the past for a video. She has a very unique voice that I'm a big fan of, but I wouldn't imagine Marie's voice *exactly* like this. Something a little more gruff, with a New York accent bsky.app/profile/scru...

I really wanna get better at drawing simple, appealing backgrounds before I draw any more comic pages. I also need to get better at making sure the canvas isn't flipped when I draw buttons on shirts and coats. I screw that up *a lot*
