Helllo over here. Life’s busy. I thought last year was hard but this year as an ECT is worse. I passed my PGTA with a distinction this week and I’ve been teaching full time. Am absolutely shattered. Probably too old for this, really.

Back to work tomorrow. I have barely had any time off this holiday. Feel as tired as I was at the end of term. Have done my assignment though and about 1/5 of the term’s planning, plus am up to date on college work. Need a holiday. 2.5 months to go and I’ll get one.

Second placement done. Spent half of this week really unwell, ended up in hospital. Got vertigo - ENT appointment in the next couple of weeks. Back to home school on Monday. 2 weeks til half term - and a new assignment beckons!

I put this on the other place and most were nice (apart from some random who should have listened to Thumper’s mum) This was my just turned 15 yo’s art homework. Am so proud and also so pleased she gets to do her one GCSE option in something she loves.

It’s been a long day. Drove to kid’s school, then to mine. Full day of teaching. Shopping. Drove home, straight out in car to do ballet run. Lost my lip balm and my lips are sore. Sitting in a car park in the rain doing my planning for tomorrow. Tuesday is the worst day I think

I made a turkey and ham pie with leftover Christmas meat. The only thing I had to buy which I didn’t have in was some mustard. Made my own pastry. It was lush (and I did sprout tops which I adore) Am now wondering why I am not looking too slim at the mo 😆

Happy Anniversary to the Enomo Walrus Ham™️. 9 years ago, fed up with always doing *everything* for Christmas singlehanded, I tasked the ex with ordering the ham. He smugly returned from butcher’s- piece of cake. Christmas Eve he turned up with this bad boy. 9kg, not 9lb. He did not find it funny. 😆

Find it interesting that so many women I speak to say ‘I’m an alto’ when they are definitely not. I used to say this before I started singing lessons. I’m def a soprano, although I can sing alto. A lot of the time it’s a lack of confidence and of course vocal training, I think.

@lickedspoon.bsky.social my lessons on your Christmas dinner article went well! Both students have learnt a lot this year so far and could pick out lots of language features in your writing. They loved the exploding bourbon story! I asked them to rate the writing and they said 9 and 10 out of 10 ❤️

A bit of crying but mainly the dogs did well last night. Up early with them to take them to the loo and feed them. They have explored the garden. Everything beginning to smell of dog now 😭 currently washing their beds.
