Who doesn't have fond memories of when grandpa took 'em out to the ol' fishing hole? It wasn't til years later that you learned fishing holes were supposed to have water in 'em, or that you weren't supposed to toss a burning effigy into the fishing hole while reciting the ancient verses.

Behold, my single favorite point-of-interest on the whole map.
A closeup view of seven hexes on the map, at the center of which is a giant blue-grey walrus resting on a rock a little ways off from the coastline. The surrounding hexes are mostly water, with a small peninsula stretching out towards the walrus from the east.

The faction I'll be playing are certified swampfolk, living in ramshackle settlements built on the more sturdy bones of ancient ruins. They pay us in woims!
A closeup view of seven hexes on the map, at the center of which is a city of wooden buildings raised up on sticks, or built atop ancient stone ruins. The rooftops are covered in green moss. In the surrounding hexes, we have a coastline to the north, and swamplands to the south. A couple of rune-etched standing stones rise out of the swamp.

When I think about this chained up mountain, I get that same sick feeling I got at the part of Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, when the titular Nemo opens the big scary door he's not supposed to. I had to leave the room at that part. Don't do it!

I'm super jealous of the players who get to be the faction whose towns are all carried on the backs of giant elephants.

Big volcano on an island in the middle of the bay! Everything I know about games tells me there's something useful inside.

Collect the giant pearl from the mouth of the giant clam to socket it into your armor for +3 Water Resistance. What do you mean that's not how this game works? Oh, and don't forget to check behind the waterfall.
Closeup view of seven hexes on the map, at the center of which is a lake, with a giant clam on an island in the middle, its mouth open to display a pearl. A waterfall feeds into the lake from the northwest, while a river flows away from the lake to the southeast. A city sits on the cliff to the north. Forests flank the lake on the east and west.

I'm sure we needn't worry about this colossal demon skull – whatever it was is long dead, and probably can't hurt us anymore, right?

Some people live in subterranean mountain cities, surrounded by mushroom forests! It was a lot of fun figuring out how to represent a subterranean city on the map.

This big purple vulture may hold great wisdom. Might also be hungry. But if you're not carrion yet, you're probably safe. Maybe it can teach you some bird magic. Or bird lore. Or bird music.

Colossal fertility statue, just one of many. Is she carrying a colossal dish of grapes? Weary travelers should try to scale the towering statue to find out!
A closeup of seven hexes, at the center of which is a towering fertility statue – a voluptuous woman holding aloft a dish full of something purple. Could be grapes. A fullly-illustrated hex-map for a #Cataphract game. I was given free rein to add all sorts of weird points-of-interest throughout the map, so we've got all sorts of weird ruins, caves, giant birds, monster habitats, colossal fertility statues, and oversized vegetables.
An illustrated map of a fantasy land, designed as a "hex-crawl" map. It features a wide variety of detailed locations. The only label on the map is in the bottom right corner, reading "Zwijger."

Working again on the book layout for Dark Devices. Had a two-page spread to fill with something, so I had a little fun putting together a series of portraits! I intend for most of the interior art in this game to be made from old public-domain images.
A screenshot of a two-page spread in the rulebook for a tabletop roleplaying game. The top left corner features text explaining the role of "The Pawns" in the game, while the rest of the space is filled with artwork of old portraits over a grungy red and white background. The portraits are all old-timey nineteenth century photographs, edited with red coloration, and placed within a variety of vintage picture frames.

Exploring the possibility of revising a lot of the Strange Gifts in Dark Devices. Here's the updated list for Arhaag, the Hungry Machine. Combined a couple, and overall tried to give the rest more flavor, and more clear focus.
An image of a card outlining several strange gifts for the game: "Dark Devices".

The text reads:

Artificer Visions
Make an offering of fuel into a fire, furnace, or engine, and receive visions of a schematic to any machine – even one not yet invented – and learn the sacred rituals through which the machine may be constructed and operated.

Cogspeaker
Speak words in Arhaag’s polluted language, and machines are compelled to listen. Words to cause even the most stubborn of machines perform smoothly. Words to repair any breakdown. Words to dismantle or cause malfunction in even the most reliable of machines.

Laborer’s Fugue
Order a person to labor and toil, and they will enter a trancelike state in which they work tirelessly until the task is complete – sustatined by Arhaag’s power. Extensive use will take a severe toll on the subject’s body and mind.

Magnetic Field
Create and manipulate a magnetic field – pulling metal objects towards you, pushing them away, twisting and turning them as you see fit.

Nature Reforged
Water and feed a natural plant with sacred fuel to transform it into an artificed mechanical construct. The larger the plant, the more time or fuel it takes to transform into a machine.

Transmute Fuel
Transform any mundane material into sacred fuel for machines. The more sentimental value the material holds, the more powerful the fuel it creates.

This is so fun to see in games! In my game Behemoth, it's literally ghosts from an ancient civilization that uploaded their souls to the magical nano-cloud Internet, haunting every piece of tech they can. Kind of a "what if WH40k machine spirits were T'lan Imass from the Malazan books?"

I've been working for a long time now on Shatterkin, a FitD game of kids with evolving monster pets (kind of a Digimon meets Stranger Things). You play 2 different characters (kid and monster), and your monsters playbook evolves and expands throughout play.
An image of the Shatterkin logo and an assortment of Shatterkin creatures below it, including an ant-like bug, a small plant-bulb creature, a small dinosaur with a dorsal sail, a goofy looking bear with small horns, a long-legged owl, a weird fishy thing with a jellyfish shell, and a little goblin guy with a handful of mud.

Dark Devices is a slow-burn series, with drama and horror that builds to a crescendo by the end of the season, as the cast spirals out of control in the service of their eldritch patrons. Each season brings in a new cast, as new pawns to the same patrons in the same city, decades later. 7/7

Okay, here's my attempt at reining myself in as I build this Campaign frame. While I'll be making several new Classes for it, I'll be re-using or slightly re-imagining a few of the originals. But, most importantly, this plan does not involve the creation of any new Domains.

Templar: Codex & Valor
Witch: Dread & Midnight

5. It's tough to pin down what ttrpg I've played most, because I jump around to a lot of different systems, even mid-campaign, sometimes. But it's probably The Riddle of Steel simply because, as my first, it was the only TTRPG I played for a solid four years.

Been a while since I've done much work on BEHEMOTH #ttrpg – but I got back into it today with some more star system maps, for the next Subsector guide I plan to release.
A simplified map of a star system within a hexagonal frame. The system is labeled as Miretskov System in Subsector Denoch. The system's star shines with a white light. There is a planet named Erntzin that has a two moons and a planetary ring. There is another planet named Zolevedt, with an orbital station, Rhuneforge, and a strange wireframe construct surrounding the planet. There is also a station named Rosar Garrision.A simplified map of a star system within a hexagonal frame. The system is labeled as Vladsminsk System in Subsector Denoch. The system's star shines with an orange light. There is a planet named Karan Kor that has a three moons. There is another planet named Orstikov, with two moons and a planetary ring. There is a third planet named Old Scymmerastas, with one moon. An asteroid belt named Kallys Merr spans the width of the map, and at its center is a station named Bastion Avostra.A simplified map of a star system within a hexagonal frame. The system is labeled as Ald Amas System in Subsector Denoch. The system's star shines with a blend of white, pink, and blue light. There is a planet named Ald-An-Andar that has one moon. There is another planet named Ald-An-Gostas, with no moons. There are three strange artifacts, labeled Judge, Artisan, and Beggar. Swirling lights dance through the starry backdrop.
