Trying to get inside the head of a nurse… One who worked 80 years ago in occupied Guernsey. I’m a nurse too. But her world? Nothing like mine. No electronics. Often no electricity. No dressings. Few medicines. Little food. Just instinct, and decisions no one could train for.

One of the best views in the island, and there’s a compact and bijou property for sale too 👀 #Guernsey #CHOG

It’s a good job writers never believe what they read or I’d be in search of a bigger hat! Truly amazed by the latest review. Amazed and delighted. ‘A beautiful heart-rending book I wouldn't have missed for the world’.

My friend has just sent me a holiday snap. Tempted to send her one back of me huddled in my dressing gown 🤣

I went into the Red Cross to drop off some pictures and came out with Lisa Jewell book I haven’t read and a silver ring for my daughter 😩 I don’t think I told you that she was burgled over Christmas and had all her jewellery stolen? I’m helping her rebuild her collection.

Ta da! I’m delighted to share the cover of The Book of Lost Children. Set in Guernsey during the occupation and inspired by true events, this took three months of research before I put pen to paper. Available to pre-order 👇 geni.us/915-al-aut-am

I’ve pretty much given up on reading arcs via NetGalley. If I want to read a book I buy it, unless a publisher contacts me. Nobody’s Fool, Harlen Coben. I’m delighted the publisher nudged me. Wow!!!

Just spent 10 minutes searching for my Wham brooch. Comes out every Christmas. Not an exact copy. Found it in a charity shop years ago. I wonder where the original is? Anyone know?

I’m over the moon!!! I have been searching for this movie for years. Saw it probably 45 years ago. Couldn’t remember any of the actors. A social media post made me search up Yvonne Mitchell. Would you believe I recognised her from her image. Joan Collins on her right Excellent movie. Christmas made!

I love that two nurses-turned-writers are heading up the UK book charts currently. If you haven’t read The Wives or The Christmas Cottage I can happily recommend both.
