Tonight, sheep learnt for what is likely the 90th time, that you need to regularly playtest the project without the aid of debug menus or tools, to ensure everything is still working as it should. Yes, even if you haven't touched that section of the codebase in a month. (especially so, in fact.)

Got a basic logging system set up for the game. And by logging system, I mean "when the player quits the game, it prompts them to copy a string containing all the things they did with no timestamps" Also slightly related, but you can quit the game without alt+F4-ing now.

Number one rule of creating UI in godot is that whatever you need them for, aspect ratios are not going to work the way you think they will, and won't ever work for what you need them for. Every time I touch them, I spend all night fidgeting with them before giving up and doing another method.

Penn's been unable to hold a lucid conversation since three hours ago, and is moments away from going full nonverbal, but they knew the risk when they agreed to tag along. At least this keeps em from feeling like a waste of space for a bit.

Emacs seems cool, but anytime I've tried to mess with it, I just kinda bounce off of it Got the usual "nvim's already configured the way I like it" paired with RSI issues around the Ctrl overuse. (Tho I'd prolly give it another try if I ever made a custom keyboard that didn't put ctrl on pinkie)

I love SPAs. I love clicking a link and seeing that built in loading bar slowly freeze at 25%, sighing, and having to middle click the link instead so it loads instantly using my BROWSER'S loading routine instead of the shit one the SPA is using that just spins out and silently fails after a minute.

As someone who's fixated on non-white streetlights/lighting, (I miss mercury vapor. They sucked, but they were such a vibe.) I was overjoyed the first time I saw a purple street light.
