Eh, in their defense Camp Sinister is a fairly recent change. He's another Deadpool where the original creator was "I want someone with no personality at all!" and after a few years someone thought, "But what if he DID have a personality?" As a huge fan of 90's X-Factor... I loved this change.

Back from vacationing in the other side of the US. Promised my wife we'd do a bookstore crawl - visited five independent Maryland bookstores in one day, two of which were used bookstores. We did a pretty good job remembering we were just on vacation - we only spent $70 to ship half our books home.

I would lean towards "game", mainly because I don't want to be able to predict what will happen. For Journaling, I want clearly stated prompts or a clearly defined world so I'm not creating too much from scratch, which usually leads to a structured (or gamelike) experience.

The first journaling game that really hit me in the emotions with a pipe wrench was The Cog That Remains by @cannibalhalfling.bsky.social so I will forever be drawn to Mech games that cause emotional pain. Unlike Battletech proper which only causes pain if you drop the minis.

I always thought the best part of Battletech was designing your own mechs, like building a character. I made a ton of Mechs who were bristling with weapons, didn’t have the batteries to move, and immediately became overheated.
