Marinler Zine @marinlerzine.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Vol 3 of “They Were Bunkmates” is out now! Grab a copy of this #StarTrekLowerDecks digital fanzine on dub.sh/marinler26 where 26 contributors come together to explore and celebrate #BeckettMariner and #BradBoimler ❤️💜 The zine is free; all donations will be sent to actionkivu.org/ #StarTrek #zine

The cover art for "They Were Bunkmates: A Marinler Fanzine- Volume 3" 2026.

Front cover (left):

ART by Orchi: An illustration with blue, purple and pink palette- the colors of a bisexual flag, loosely inspired by George Barbier’s iconic 1925 Art deco illustration "Le Feu" (Fire) published in Falbalas et Fanfreluches, Almanach des Modes.

Lieutenants Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler are sitting on the wide railing of a balcony. They are both wearing the ceremonial while uniform lined with gold. Mariner is [partially laying on Boimler, resting her left arm in his lap. Boimler is cupping her head in his left hand.

In her right hand, Beckett is holding a salmon pink alien flower, which she is caressing Brad’s face with. He’s holding her hand in his and smiling at her. Beckett is whispering something to him.

Underneath them, on the railing is a see through sheet of sparkly pink Andorian silk. On the right side of the frame, next to where the railing ends, is a block with a giant flower pot on it. The pot has a white Calla Lilly like plant, with pink and blue leaves. The vase is white, with golden handles, rim and bottom. The railing, floor tiles, the block are also white, but lined with gold emblems. It is night time, and the dark blue sky behind them is lit by purple and red fireworks

Middle Spine: A purple art deco frame surrounded by dark blue background of a starry sky, the frame contents "They Were Bunkmates- A Marinler Fanzine" in fancy white lettering. Art by Ray Daly.

Back cover: (right)
ART by Foodcu-be: An Archie-comics style illustration of Mariner kissing Boimler on the cheek. Mariner has her eyes closed and is smiling. Boimler has one visible arm up in the air while he is dizzy and blushing. Floating around them cartoonishly are T’lyn, Rutherford, and Tendi. Rutherford is without his implant. There is a blue header across the top. The title reads “THEY WERE BUNKMATES #3” in red with a white stroke. In the comics corner box is a moopsy.

Some extra Lower Decks for your Second Contact Day. 🖖🏻 Definitely need to get Rutherford and Boimler in the mix. Hopefully more to come soon.

star trek fan art illustration of Jennifer from Star Trek Lower Decks. She's wearing aviator sunglasses, blowing pink bubble gum, dressed in a tank top with pink letters that say "Fuck ICE." From the top, she has a piercing in her right antenna, with an additional ring below. her left antenna has 2 silver rings. the sides of her hair has been shaved to give her a pony-hawk. her right ear has a lobe ring with 3 piercings: two stars and a starfleet delta. she also has a nose piercing. her neck tattoo is the symbol for Trill. her right arm tattoos are the Great Koala, the klingon, maquis, and bajoran symbols. The klingon word for honor is below them. on her right forearm is the Starfleet delta along with vulcan script for "to boldly go" (i hope) all among a vibrant space nebula. she has two rings on her fingers. her chest tattoos are a blue heart bordered with roses. Ritos (the abbreviated name of her ship) is written in the center. below that are gold letters "L & D." on her left arm is the Vulcan symbol for I.D.I.C. Two hearts with lovers initials: M + J & C + J, both are crossed out. My art signature is below them. Beside that is Vulcan script for "what is, is." (i hope.) on her left forearm is the symbol of her homeworld, Andoria. Behind her is a vibrant pink background.

star trek lower decks fan art illustration of Shaxs. he's wearing a yellow tank top that says fuck ice. T'ana is tattooed on his chest. on his right hand is the symbol of the Maquis. His left arm is tattooed with a colorful space nebula. A blue heart features the letters L&D. below that is the word ally with the "A" being a rainbow Starfleet delta. below that are rows of Cardassian symbols that have been crossed out. below that the words say, "Resist. Resist Today. Resist Tomorrow." A golden Bajoran emblem hangs around his neck.

star trek lower decks fan art illustration of T'Lyn. she's leaning against something (off screen), wearing sunglasses, has purple eye shadow - as is vulcan tradition, multiple piercings in her ear, 2 rings, a starfleet delta and a vulcan hand symbol. she's wearing a blue choker, and two necklaces. one is a simple silver chain. the other is Khan's makeshift broken starfleet necklace from the OG "Wrath of Khan." she's wearing a punk wristband and black opal ring. on her right arm is the vulcan script for "live long and prosper" and on her left arm is the vulcan script for "peace and long life." both are obscured by the pose. her blue tank top has the letters "IDIC." the decal is worn and faded. the background is purple to match her eyeshadow.

star trek lower decks fan art of Tendi. she's leaning against the side of the drawing, her hair is slicked back with a pair of aviator sunglasses atop her head. she's wearing several necklaces of gold and silver. a gold pendant with the Orion symbol and a Starfleet delta. she's also wearing a fitted black t-shirt. the white text says "A. B. C. D. E. F. U. C. K. I. C. E." the background is filled with pink skulls on a black backdrop.
