You could still learn moves from books or whatever, so customizing on the fly would still be a thing. I’d personally like to see more/different normal strings and slight variations of tools- it always bugged me that you only had the one batch of normal moves to choose from in Rumbleverse.

In my wildest dreams it would play exactly like Rumbleverse, but the leveling up would lead to specific bespoke special moves and abilities for those characters (as oppose to the random ones that are already in the game)

The Last Cop Hunter feeds the ground with ash from her stogie. She wears a too-big jacket and a too-small corset with star-shaped pasties peaking out. She’s modified a plaid kilt into something less like a skirt and more like a loincloth. There’s two pairs of torn fishnet stockings layered beneath, and combat boots from her home planet typical of her fellow Cop Hunters that she wears in tribute to those who’ve fallen. She’s thinking fondly of another job well-done, her eyes cast down watching the embers scatter. Her smudged black lipstick matches her tostled, inky black hair cut in a canted a-line bob.

These encounters are as likely to be violent as friendly. And as you play you increasingly realize as you gain companions and encounter odd characters, that you should have been leaving your home from the beginning, and you start planning your second play through before you’re even halfway done.

Dunno if you’ve played Look Outside, but it’s incredible and fits the vibe of this video perfectly. A game that discourages you from leaving the apartment and interacting with people for fear of being consumed or turned to a monster yourself - the only non-threatening option is playing video games.

I dunno what it says about me, but I find playing any game with a good classic arcade style fight stick to be such a pleasure, I often try to make time for it on holidays and vacations etc. Played through like half of Silent Hill 1 for my partner this way while visiting my parents. It was sublime!

I’ve got my fair share of experience in that department. Was the animation director on a handful of web animated things. Truly the biggest hurdles are organization and communication. But they’re easy if you have a system in place. Lotsa google docs, and yapping at the team over slack or discord.
