After yesterday’s hard mode but it was actually on easy fake go, I got the hard mode clear of Crisis Force for reals this time. A few more tricky patterns, but after learning a few patterns for normal mode it was straightforward enough. Cool game with some killer tunes 🤘 #1cc #stg #shmup

Thought hard mode was pretty straightforward in Crisis Force… till I got to stage 7 & realised it had to be still on normal (rebooting to restart a run… silly me!), anyway I saw it out to get a pb at least. I then went and tried hard mode but got my butt kicked by stage 7… Fun times

*no audio* Don’t know why I ran into that MASSIVE laser beam 😭 DOUBLE KO (but I lose). The audio didn’t work anyway so it’d have been disappointing learning that had I cleared. Check your capture settings folks!

Got my head well and truly down into raystorm still… takes me sooo long to clear these tougher games, but I’ve got my eye on the prize now. Made it to the last boss this evening, and had some good runs at the stage 5&6 bosses. Soon (🤞)

Spent most of the month learning the ins and outs of raystorm by taito. Played it various ways, from ps1 & Saturn ports (via MiSTer), to the JP arcade version & ps4 m2 port, all to get to grips with it. The learning part is over, now to try and put some runs together… the really difficult bit 😅

I love being at this point in games, practicing a boss until it clicks. Some call this a grind, however to me this is peak getting out of my head, really deep into the game, enjoying every minute - especially when you eventually get that no-miss! Another late night playing ´Galactic Attack’ on Saturn via MiSTer. Made it to stage 5 w/ 1.5 mil, I cleared on pad a good while back, so trying now with stick is messing with the muscle memory… slowly getting there though.

About 38 years since I seriously put time into a c64 game (looking at you IK+) but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing Enforcer this weekend. So responsive, fun loadouts, not much memo & easily recoverable power after deaths = a very fun shmup/stg. Thanks @beardedsonofnel.bsky.social for another gem!
