iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

for sure! unfortunately, even if it gets remade, Neill and Fishburne are SO good that anyone else would feel significantly lesser in their roles

010

that’s annoying as hell but at least makes a bit more sense with those two, considering they’re basically EP collections

120

there are black metal riffs on here??? I should’ve revisited this ages ago

020

god 2x10” is the most annoying format they could’ve possibly used

320

why the hell do I have this at 4 stars on RYM, it is so obviously better than that

240

the Into the Uncanny opening riff is genuinely one of the best riffs of all time

250

listening to The Ocean’s Pelagial again (it still rules)

490

hell yeah got my ticket to see The Devils, extremely excited

020

the British media climate is so incredibly fucking toxic

080

I know it’s been talked about a lot but it really fucking sucks that Taskmaster has a trans contestant on with a Linehan defender

despite sounding nothing like my music, this song is one of my biggest influences. the way the two guitars diverge halfway through and develop their own personalities is an incredible way to simulate anxiety. the right channel guitar in particular was a HUGE influence on how I did noise on Still

there's something about Swedish metal singers and the way they sing "fuck" that I can't help but love. special shoutout to Jonas Renkse and Daniel Gildenlow, who really put everything into each one

060

feels like the kinda day to listen to a ton of Katatonia tbh

060

holding strong with my goal to have Tony Leung on top at the end of the year, although I'm running out of movies I own

030

checked my most-watched actors for the year and, honestly, not a terrible set

Tony Leung Chiu-wai (11 films)
Matt Damon (9 films)
Maggie Cheung (9 films)
Brad Pitt (8 films)
Sam Neill (7 films)
Tom Cruise (7 films)
Kenny Baker (7 films)
Frank Oz (7 films)
Leonardo DiCaprio (7 films)
Anne Hathaway (6 films)

260

I still really like the movie, to be clear! just imagining how incredible it would be if it was directed by like John Carpenter or something

110

it still rules but it could’ve been so much more

040

god Event Horizon could’ve been a masterpiece if it had a competent director instead of goddamn Paul WS Anderson

680

(I am watching Event Horizon)

180

I wonder how many movies do the thing where someone folds a piece of paper to demonstrate how a wormhole works

290

genuinely you all need to get on this album, it’s extremely fucking good

I wasn't allowed to play games when I was young so I have very little connection to the 16-bit and 8-bit eras

140

9 games, in chronological order of when I played them

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Final Fantasy X
Metroid Prime
Metal Gear Solid 2
Resident Evil 4
Guitar Hero II
Mass Effect
Bloodborne
Hollow Knight

1860

I interpreted “the sound that made me” as the 9 albums that shaped my taste, not necessarily my 9 favorites (although I’ll stand by all of these albums still being sick as fuck)

050

alright fine roughly chronologically ordered by when I got into them

one of those my9albums charts, with the following 9 albums:
Creed - Human Clay
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element
Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
Pig Destroyer - Terrifyer
Paramore - Riot
Boris - Feedbacker
Carly Rae Jepsen - E•MO•TION

oh yeah, I love it so much! black metal is inherently goofy and this moment leans into it so perfectly

the funniest moment in metal is on Emperor’s Al Svartr (The Oath) when, after 3 minutes of sinister buildup, the synths do a jaunty little tune

150

fall truly begins the first day you step outside and think “damn I should’ve worn my Immolation longsleeve”

080

happy four sided death metal longsleeve season to all who celebrate

today was a much better day. pain eases with time and life goes on.

050

it's my favorite Kubrick!

100

it's been a pretty fantastic week of movies, despite being a less fantastic week for....most other things

Barry Lyndon (5 stars)
Bring It On (4 stars)
Infernal Affairs 2 (3.5 stars)
Infernal Affairs (4.5 stars)
