The Scottish Greens have just won outright their first constituency seat in the Scottish Parliament and Joanna Cherry thinks the 23 per cent swing to Lorna Slater is because voters have an issue with identity politics? @esqueer.net

Did Anas Sarwar really say that 40 per cent of Scotland's electricity came from nuclear sources? #STVdebate
FoI Request: Could you supply all briefings, analysis and correspondence, including internal, held by the Scottish Government regarding nuclear power, between March 1 2024 and May 31 2024? In 2022, 7,944 GWh of electricity was generated from nuclear power in Scotland. This accounted for 15.8% of the total electricity generated in Scotland in 2022. This compares to 28% in 2018. Meanwhile, electricity generated from renewables has risen from 55% to 71% in the same period.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free

Hey @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social I've got a story for you. It's about how a once reputable news organisation can't even get the headline right. Facts do matter. It wasn't a Palestine Action rally.

Our local community in Edinburgh has been brought back to life by the arrival of people from all over the world. Shops which have been vacant for 20 years now support thriving new businesses. We ❤️ diversity. Racists and haters are not welcome here.
Poster from Stand Up To Racism to promote the peaceful protest planned for Thursday 19th June at Wetsfield Street, Edinburgh EH11 where racist Katie Hopkins is appearing.

Hopkins said "Migrants are like cockroaches".
She said that "I've always been an admirer" of fascist "Tommy Robinson" former BNP member and founder of the EDL.
She described the arm of someone with a limb difference as "looking like the end of one of those smoked sausages".

Where's the crisis @skynewsrss.bsky.social? Is it in the fact that there are 100,000 vacancies in the care sector? When you fill our screens with biased non fact based opinion then you are part of the problem.

Scottish word for the day: hoaching- very busy, extremely crowded. High Street, Edinburgh today. Up to 4 million people are expected to visit during the month long festivals to discover one of the most beautiful cities in one of the most peaceful, prosperous and cosmopolitan countries in the world.
The High Street is the start of the Royal Mile which goes from the castle to Holyrood Palace. With St. Giles cathedral in the background the pedestrianised street is a popular place for ad hoc festival entertainment and for
handing out flyers

This seems like a pretty good place to be, much better than that other place. Less noisy and the neighbours seem more sociable. Feels like home already.
