Doesn’t seem to matter since the ai should have read the instruction to never nest buttons in links, and it still did it anyway. Can’t put up guardrails for ai if the ai be like “naw. Imma do what I want anyway, you dumb meat puppet”

Currently reviewing buttons that were nested inside of hyperlinks so the hyperlinks would “look like buttons” Good job everyone. Drain a lake to make a ball of dumb

Maybe the capital one app? There’s definitely one of those in there which is nonsense
Slide to send “button” where a knob needs to be dragged from the left to right side of the control to send money

beyond the role issue, wondering how that actually passes the keyboard SC... seems to me people read up to the "operable through a keyboard interface". and then just stop instead of noticing it is immediately followed by **without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes**

I'm helping a former client of mine source candidates for a fulltime remote developer position, based in the US! I'd love to continue working with them but I can't due to my location. You'd be working on Audiom, an audio-based map viewer that allows blind and low vision people to access maps.

Well, GitHub is down again (day that ends in y), but when it is back up: New Repositories now have a new default Issue label for "Accessibility". This update addresses a longstanding gap and helps to normalize accessibility as a primary consideration.

Watching the local town zoning board meeting for reasons I don’t need to get into. But the current topic is how ducks are just better pets & that more duck pets should be allowed & why are there any other channels but this in tv? People arguing for the need for more duck pets. Tax dollars at work.

How do I know the human race is doomed? Because the best we could think up for indicating a smoke alarm was close to losing its battery was having it make a noise that seems to come from all directions in the house so you never know which smoke alarm is chirping and oh my fucking god it’s 1:25 am

/me puts on ARIA WG hat, cracks knuckles, sits down in front of new CSS-Tricks article about ARIA. Oh. Ok then. This is pretty good. “The Siren Song of `ariaNotify()`” css-tricks.com/the-siren-so... #ARIA #accessibility #a11y
I am excited about ariaNotify(), y’know, in a measured, cautious way. It finally gives us a way to address a use case that has plagued the web — and me, personally — for years, in a shockingly easy way. So easy, in fact, that it makes ariaNotify() just a little bit dangerous.
I mean, not for us though, right? Because we’re all gonna be cool about this, right?
Right.
