I was at the International Plowing Match today, and checked out the VIP Plowing, which was a representative from each of the 4 parties. I was amused to see the size of the four groups at the rural event. (For non-Canadians, Blue = conservative, Orange = labor (NDP), Red = Liberal, Green = Green).

While downsizing, I have amassed this pile of lids. I do not know where any of the containers are that go with these lids. I was excited as I found a container without a lid. I went through the pile... and NONE OF THESE LIDS FIT!

I finally used my 2 years of growing Broom Corn and a stick that my maple tree granted me (which I found, stuck in the ground like a sword, after a storm) and made a broom!

As I've been decluttering the house, I went through all of our hats, gloves, and scarves. I found a LOT of gloves that had no match. While digging through this bin of gloves, I got to the bottom and found one sock. I guess he heard it was singles night and he was looking for a mate.

Spaceship! Had a good time with Galactic Cruise. While it appears overwhelming, the things you do make sense and lead into each other. It has the elements that you would expect to do if you were planning, building, marketing, and sailing a fleet of cruise ships.

Scott's Cruise Tip: Many rooms will only have a few NA power outlets, but will also have some 220v European outlets. An adapter like this will let you plug things that can handle 220 volts into that outlet while also adding USB 2.0 and 3.0 charging ports. a.co/d/fHc2AwZ

Take a look at Fluch der Mumie from Ravensburger. It's the same theme, but is clearly a family game without the horror. Don't use a scary title font and show scary images, but lean into playful instead.

While downsizing, I came across something that sparked bucketfuls of joy. This album of The Hobbit was something I listened to again and again on my Fischer Price record player. This was before VCRs, so was how I could relive one of my favorite things. I have a second copy as I wore the first out.

Had a chance to play Railways of the Lost Atlas tonight. It is now my favorite 18xx game, as it removes a number of the annoyances with most 18xx games. It's a modular board that you build to start, and has a Micro, Short, and Long version.

Prepping for a cruise. I like to take a set of "Cruise Games" - easy to explain, handle a wide player number, look interesting to play, and can pack compactly. Here's my set for this cruise. I also have my iPad with games that are more component-focused if people want to dive deeper.
