The coffee where I teach has gone way downhill. But the piano holds its tuning better than any I've heard.

Bad espresso in a paper cup with an old blurry piano in the background.

Listening to an advance copy of Enzo Favata’s ECM debut. Brilliant music. He’s currently on a duo tour of Iceland with Sunna so at least I have this music and my dog to keep me company. #jazzsky #musicsky

Just got back from Italy and I’m listening to an interview from a year ago with PM Mark Carney which could have been now. Nothing has changed. I mean a lot has changed, but this guy is still razor sharp and the issues are almost identical. Trade war, Ukraine, Greenland.

Iceland is getting ready to vote on, not whether or not to join the EU, but rather whether or not to continue talks with the EU about joining. That alone seems absolutely nuts to me. Why wouldn't you want to continue talks and hear what kind of deal you could get?

My Varia VS3 grinder broke about a month ago. I decided to fix it myself. I figured, how hard could it be? After a trip to the US I got my hands on a new motor, took the entire grinder apart and learned how to use a soldering iron. It works now and it was totally worth the hassle.
