Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 10hTempted to subscribe just to see if there's some explanation of equating Ossoff and Newsom on politics. I think of Ossoff's as "pretty good, especially for a Senator from Georgia" and Newsom's as "abysmal, especially for a Governor from California." But maybe I'm missing something? 3240

Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Yes, you do. Rule 11, Sec 2, Art 1(b): A ball in possession of an airborne runner is on, above, or behind the plane of the goal line, and some part of the ball passed over or inside the pylon. "Passed over or inside the pylon" being the key words. media.nfl.com/content/dam/...media.nfl.com 0130
Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 12/10/2026I don't think it is. That's why you have to get it inside the pylon. 1130

Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 08/10/2026If the NY coaches knew they had a timeout, they should've calmly pointed that out until the refs/scorers figured it out or threatened a technical. They didn't, so it's on them. If they didn't know, it's on them too. 030
Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 02/10/2026It wasn't even that good. 268 yards, 1 TD, one INT, two fumbles (one lost). If he wasn't facing a noodle-armed QBAnon as his opposite number, they lose. 050

Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Is it because people left, or because the algorithm now squashes anyone who talks about politics and who's not a fascist? I mean, I'm sure it's partly the former, but it seems like the latter has to be a huge part of it. 120

Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 30/09/2026From what I've read, they seem to have moved on from their Ayn Rand phase. As someone who grew out of his early Rand phase, I'm inclined to give them a second chance. Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Aside from the boredom of it, it's so confusing to have "Atlanta United" and "Atlanta City" and they're different teams. It's one thing if it evolves naturally over 100+ years in Manchester where soccer is universally understood. But here, where 60% of the city is still learning we have team(s)... 020

Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Coordinating what six different families need from the store and when the one person whose picture is on the Costco ID is going to go buy those things takes loads of time and resources that poor folks don't have a lot of to spare. 100

Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 22/09/2026(Races are fuzzy cultural constructs. They don't have "inverses." What's the inverse of Asian? What's the inverse of Hispanic? "Black" is the inverse of "white" in terms of color theory, but black people aren't literally black and white people aren't literally white.) 210
Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Among many other things, he did not "invert the particulars" as he claims. The inverse of "straight white men" is not "anybody who is female, nonbinary, black, Hispanic, Asian, gay, bi, and/or a member of any other minority." It's something closer to "gay black women" although even that is flawed. 100
Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 22/09/2026It's a bad idea to say it for a number of reasons, but that kind of broad, vague, nonspecific "threat" doesn't meet the legal standard for criminality. Scott Lange @scottlange.bsky.social · 22/09/2026The short answer is that low income families are living paycheck to paycheck and can't afford the upfront cost of things like Costco memberships. Being poor means you're not positioned to take advantage of various efficiencies in society, which only digs your hole deeper. 130
