…and scene. (From @hotpaper.bsky.social)
A four-panel comic featuring two blobby-looking cartoon characters.

Character 1, looking beaten up, says: “I may have caused thousands to suffer. But if you kill me, you’ll be the same as me.”

Character 2 says: “I don’t care.” Character 2 then pulls a handgun and fires, implicitly aiming at character 1 (not seen).

“When the Wind Blows” cracks neck. Rolls shoulders. Raises both fists. Also, did the Russo brothers somehow forget they previously made a movie in which half the people in the universe died? Oh, wait — all that did was make a few people go to group therapy for a while. I guess it was all fine.
Avengers: Doomsday reportedly has at least 6 major deaths.

It's described as one of the darkest movies ever made.

Justice will come for the Cornell 7. The internet is doing its thing. We need a task force on the Cornell 40-90 who got the invite and said nothing. We need to start naming and shaming these men so complicity becomes the worse alternative. These men become the cops that don't believe you, the doctors who dismiss you, the judges who "don't want to ruin his life", the congressmen who legislate you into silence. The rapists are the heart of the regime. These men are the bones. Break them.

A line drawing showing a warrior on a flying griffon, a castle on a mountain, and a person reading a book from which those images are conjured. The illustration is by Chris Riddell.

Handwritten text reads:

Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier
is imprisoned by the enemy, don’t we consider it
his duty to escape? The moneylenders, the
knownothings, the authoritarians have us all in
prison; if we value the freedom of the mind and
soul, if we’re partisans of liberty, then it’s our plain
duty to escape, and to take as many people with us
as we can.

An exchange from a social media site that reads:

magicmooshka: recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen Al for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen Al for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good, and at my job, it seems like each department says that Al can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen Al will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence lies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don’t.

animatedamerican: Hey OP? Thank you for articulating something I've been trying to get clear in my own mind for a while now.

Chris Cocks is a tool, but this headline (not linking the article, and neither should you) is bullshit. Polygon took the innocuous statement that until WotC has a new CEO, senior management might need to run things past the Hasbro CEO and made it sound like there’s been fucking coup.

Dear Imagination Library Graduate,

My, how time flies. It seems it was only yesterday when your family and friends read you your first story. You were just a baby. Now you're five years old and about to go to school. How exciting!

This may be your last book from my Imagination Library but you have to promise me you will keep on reading. If you go to your local public library you will find a great number of books just for kids your age. Every book is a treasure and every time you open one up you will meet new friends and take wonderful journeys to magical places.

I hope you have a great time in school. I bet your school will even have a library where you can check out books. You and all of your friends are very special. There is no limit to what you can do or how far you can go.

Just remember the lessons my family taught me - dream big dreams; learn everything you can learn; and care for all those who care for you. You do all of these things and you can be anyone you want to be.

You are terrific, and remember...

I Will Always Love You,

Dolly

A new #CORE20RPG design diary! Primordial magic is an arcane tradition older than spellcasting, first shaped by the kobolds, inspired by the 3e warlock, and perfect for any character who prefers a more personal approach to blowing things up with magic. core20rpg.blogspot.com/2026/08/ye-o...

A friendly goblin is poling a raft (actually the body of a giant fish) across black water toward the docks. Dozens of colorful frogs and lizards sit atop the fish-boat, along for the ride.
