Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 21/05/2026A warm, still evening in mid to late May with just a light Southerly. And with news of one in Keith’s @ramsgatebirds.bsky.social garden earlier today I thought it was a dead cert. Perhaps I should tell Merlin 🤣 #kentbirding 030

Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 08/02/2026A nice 1st winter Little Gull on the garage pool at Pegwell with BH Gulls this afternoon. At times it was the closest gull to the path, which was handy for firing off a few shots #kentbirding 0111
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 27/10/2025A rather nice dark Arctic Skua flew quite close (for here) whilst I was at the harbour on Saturday #kentbirding 0170
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 17/10/2025Yellow brow still present in Nethercourt Park this lunchtime, but did not perform for the camera (yet). Best I could manage over the last few days was a latish Pied Fly also in Nethercourt and a pair of nice Arctic Terns from Ramsgate West Cliff. 1180
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 14/10/2025A great morning at Nethercourt Park where a Yellow-browed Warbler showed quite well eventually after calling from high up in the trees. Also Firecrest, Goldcrests, Chiffs. Overhead a few Redwings and Siskins plus 3 Crossbills. 090
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 13/10/2025A fall of Goldcrests this morning at Nethercourt Park and many Redwings arriving. Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 04/01/2025Yesterday I saw a Common Buzzard over Ramsgate Harbour. It had a white tag on its left wing. After some research, the only schemes I could find that fits these are German. Unless anyone knows different? I couldn’t read any numbers and I didn’t see which direction the bird arrived from #kentbirding 180
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 03/01/2025My first trip to Stodmarsh in years late this afternoon. Ringtail Hen Harrier in to roost just before 4:15. Then a male Hen Harrier in just after 4:15. A hunting Barn Owl, several Marsh Harriers and Fieldfares whilst I was waiting. By the time I left, there were two Barn Owls out. #kentbirding 0110
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 01/01/2025The best birding month for me for 2024 was November, with my first Little Auk for Ramsgate Harbour, my first Pallas’s in 23 years (twitched) and a few others. Back to the patch tomorrow for the start of 2025. Happy New Year to all and enjoy your birding, however you choose to do it. #kentbirding 0220
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 31/12/2024A seemingly never ending slog around the RSPB Blean Woods complex today, fuelled by copious amounts of Christmas chocolate, but the target bird was found just before 3pm in deteriorating conditions, and so the day was saved. #kentbirding 0160
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 30/12/2024Took a trip to Godmersham Park today. Didn’t have a clue where to look but eventually located the target bird in a treetop behind a high brick wall. With other finches flying up and down to an unseen food source. Also Nuthatch, Treecreeper. Nearby at Denge Wood, 2 Firecrest, a few Siskin, Coal Tits. 0140
Scott Haughie @scottbirder.bsky.social · 10/12/2024Some bits from the harbour during a quick one hour visit this lunchtime. A few other bits passing over the sea, so I would have liked to have stayed longer. 0100

Reposted by Scott HaughieRob Rackliffe @robrackliffe.bsky.social · 22/11/2024Today we managed to catch up with this LITTLE AUK on the sea approximately 100 yards outside of Ramsgate Harbour mouth. Present earlier in the day and likely to have been the bird found by J Carnell et al at N Foreland. It flapped its small wings and then flew S towards Pegwell Bay. 0203
