Very disappointed to see that, despite being named and shamed in parliament in a discussion on companies taking advantage of 'fire and rehire' ahead of the practice being outlawed in January, Eastend Homes are still threatening their workers with it.

Digging into the lovely Super Page 58 archive of 90s UK Teletext video games mag Digitiser in Sept/Oct '95 turned up some early UK PlayStation launch goodness, including a review of Ridge Racer. Despite its single track, it's still one of my most-played arcade racers.

A screencap of the review section for Ridge Racer, with chunky teletext graphics and text, and an overall 86% given to Ridge. A near-perfect conversion for the uppers, and downers: really only one track.

So I sadly wasn’t elected as a local councillor this weekend, but I did win a couple of matches in a jujitsu competition and completed my first 15km Tough Mudder.
