I don't blame him for lack of understanding, he gets caught up in antiwokeisms at times. He struggles with people "using their sexuality as their identity." He's thankfully receptive to my gentle corrections, especially when I tell him how it is significant to me. Love him lots, but he can be silly!

My dad is supportive and affirming of me being gay, and somehow missed the mark on why Pride month is significant. He said, "Why don't we have a straight pride month." That really surprised me...but he got educated with, "Because being straight wasn't illegal until 2015."
