it was all hands (get it??) on deck for #ChemNobel coverage this morning--Henri Kagan and Henso Soai winning for work related to chiral catalysis was not on my bingo board but we love a good fundamental chem prize with big commercial apps over here! cen.acs.org/people/nobel...

From the author of the report described in the story: “What’s happening here is not right, which is why I have gone to great lengths to ensure that the evidence is documented and publicly available,” says Reese Richardson ... the report’s author. “I want these companies to explain it.”

signs you might be a science journalist -- one of my primary takeaways from this excellent profile of USMNT goalkeeper Matt Freese is that he's probably not a fan of preprints www.nbcnews.com/sports/socce...
nbcnews.com
He’s a Harvard grad who comes from a family of scientists. He’s also the goalie who might lead the U.S. to World Cup glory.
Matt Freese once wrote a college research project on penalty kicks. Now he’s competing to be the starting goalie for the U.S. men’s national team at this summer’s World Cup.

Copy promoting the use of AI always seems to have come from a prompt like: "Write about how AI can help journalists, in the style of Dr. Seuss if he went to biz school" The language definitely says things, but it's just so oddly empty, with repetition after repetition.
