Yes, that's me in the first picture. You probably wonder how I got here. Well, I went to class... If I don't use humor well.... There was a gunman at my school today Also, for those that know me, yes, that is my dad there too, because of course, he came running when he heard, the big dummy

Many years ago, I got attacked strongly for trying to warn people not to push against everyone they disagreed with. Only attack if they attack first, and make sure they really wanted to hurt people What is going on now, is what I was trying to stop

Happy #BlackHistoryMonth Feb 1. You know the drill by now. We always kick things off with the Statue of Liberty. Americans look at it every day, and don't even know what its creator and funders intended it to stand for. You can't learn US history from US textbooks, so you get my typos instead.🤷🏿‍♂️

Has anyone else been having crazy issues with NSF ETAP? It has barely been loading for literally days, and now it's saying I have no submitted applications and none in progress. This is definetely a bit alarming with the whole fear of what will happen to REUs due to *cough cough* 🍊👀

If you’re in the US and you’d like to know what projects and vital services federal grants currently fund in your state, you can search here: www.usaspending.gov And you can find the contact information for your elected representatives here: www.usa.gov/elected-offi... They need to hear from you.

If someone who voted for him is now suffering as a direct result, don’t gloat. Invite them to organize with you. The cruelty may have been his point, but it should never be yours.

Halt *US* science. We can't stop the world from doing science. We can only stop ourselves from doing science. We're making a conscious choice to make China the world's leading research nation. Congratulations to China on their ascendancy I guess.
The line chart shows gross domestic expenditures on research and development (R&D) for various countries from 2000 to 2020.
Here are some key observations:
 * The United States leads in R&D spending: It has consistently been the highest spender throughout the period, with a significant increase in spending over time.
 * China's R&D spending has grown rapidly: China started with much lower spending in 2000 but has experienced the most dramatic growth, nearly catching up to the US by 2020.
 * Other countries show more moderate growth: Japan, Germany, South Korea, and the United Kingdom have also increased their R&D spending, but at a slower pace compared to the US and China.
 * Spending is adjusted for purchasing power parity: This means the figures are adjusted to account for differences in the cost of goods and services across countries, allowing for a fairer comparison of actual R&D investment.
The chart highlights the growing importance of R&D for economic competitiveness, with the US and China emerging as the dominant investors in this area.

For those who don’t know, Jonathan is *the* person who keeps track of stuff in space, a key part of the information ecosystem for anyone who studies or writes about satellites. He now needs some help to keep doing this. (1/2)

Everyone was focused on the wrong side of Elon's family tree Have you all looked up his maternal grandfather, Joshua Norman Haldeman? That will explain the salute, and why all of a sudden Trump wants Greenland and Canada I don't want a Brave New World

Has anyone else noticed that (it appears) the TikTok algorithm changed during the "blackout"? I am getting local stuff (the last video I got from my town was 2 years ago) and I am getting dance influencers. I never got that before at all It is very odd, the FYP feels different Anyone else?

My mom is such a caring person, because on top of that, earlier today she tried to help jump a neighbor's car But things aren't going very well right now across multiple aspects, so that's why I may need help I also wish people at least used leashes since this complex is supposed to be dog free

Science Sage @sciencesage.bsky.social · 20/01/2025
... and then when it ran into oncoming traffic again, my mom slipped and fell, and the owner left my mom bleeding on the side of the road to mosey on in the direction the dog ran Thankfully one guy pulled over with a first aid kit and helped her as I ran back to get my dad

Science Sage @sciencesage.bsky.social · 20/01/2025
So this happened today. I might actually ask for help here soon because the er was $130, and now my mom has to have surgery What happened is someone's dog ran from them, and my mom decided to help to try to catch it. Cue the owner not running after it, it running into four lane oncoming traffic...

Again you are missing the whole problem, they tracked one journalist by an account she didn't link to her email or phone that was for her cat with 30 videos They will use anyone nearby, a friend, etc.
000
Science Sage @sciencesage.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
Well TikTok will be dead for sure if this happens You know whichever purchase "we" choose means: conservatively controlled Rumor is Musk is the one they want to own it I wish we were ready to discuss why so many people voted against the Democrats. If not, this will be our reality for a long time
000
Science Sage @sciencesage.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
You are missing the point. Those companies are tracking you in real life. TikTok tracked journalists and their employees to see who was leaking information about TikTok. Now think of that with say someone who is in the special forces. That alone is bothersome
100
Science Sage @sciencesage.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
This is going to be a nightmare to watch. I just read on Politico, that Trump wants to make TikTok 50% owned by America, but to put a company in charge and he wants to give it to Musk If that happens TikTok will die again
010
Science Sage @sciencesage.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
If I ever get my companies going, I will no longer use China until they really allow people in their country to join our SM like they are allowing us. I want my friend back publicly
110
Science Sage @sciencesage.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
Yep completely. I used to believe our two countries could work together. But the fact they are pulling the "We believe in freedom in this digital age and glad Americans are on Red Note" When they also banned TikTok YT etc, and the fact she isn't around anymore I no longer believe
110
Science Sage @sciencesage.bsky.social · 18/01/2025
I hate how so many people are using Red Note specifically in the science and the maker community It has been over a year since Naomi Wu disappeared and we all know that wasn't a choice...
