Hello world. One of my favorite fun facts to share about elephants…their trunks are covered in whiskers, with built-in intelligence! If that got your attention…check out our new paper in @science.org www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

I'm excited about SICB next week in Seattle. Here are all of the talks myself and my collaborators are doing. If you want to learn some about skin, bio-inspired materials, elephant behaviors, or wrinkly physics come to say hi! 🐘

I think I hit my Twitter limit and am working on primarily migrating here. All engagement on the platform is from bots and getting what seems like an exponential increase of bot traffic on both personal & the SICB posts

THE NEXT 🐘🐘 PRE-PRINT IS OUT... I am very excited to share we finally know exactly how elephants develop their wrinkled trunks. It is through form (development) and function (lateralization & trunk pseudojoints). Want to learn more: biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

No one is safe when the postdoc takes a nap on the hammock...I will have to choose power nap locations more strategically in the future.
