It's no secret that I wrote my novel with a RPG setting in mind: classes, memorable characters and an authentic, breathing world. What I didn't do is follow the "chosen one" trope. These are just average people, thrown into a wild adventure. #anthro #furry #furryart #writerslift #booksky #art

One of my novel's important characters I haven't talked about yet, and can't talk about unfortunately due to spoilers. Learn more about the mysterious snow leopard Spring 2027 when I publish my novel (hopefully). Design by my illustrator @ariakey.bsky.social. #booksky #writerslift #furry #furryart

My novel is coming along nicely. @ariakey.bsky.social, my illustrator, has now completed about half of all the drawings for the first book. About 11 more to go. We keep it simple with black and white drawings just like what I showed off in the past. #writerslift #booksky #bookboost #furry #furryart

I can say without the slightest doubt that my greatest strength is writing dialogue. Debates in which different worlds clash stand out in particular. Youthful stubbornness vs years of experience. Religion vs science. Bureaucracy vs enthusiasm. More to come the next few weeks. #writerslift #booksky

Last four characters completed. That brings this little side project to an end. Over the next few weeks, I'd like to focus more on the book and look at some quotes. #furry #furryart #anthro #writer #author #writerslift #booksky #art #gaming #rpg

What if my novel were an RPG? Jessy is a minor character in my novel with a mysterious background. She is the go-to person for the most explosive news. Her unique fever skill exposes the enemies' plans. #furry #furryart #anthro #writer #author #writerslift #booksky #art #gaming #rpg

What if my novel were an RPG? Amy starts as a very minor character, even as a sidekick character. She probably has the most character development. Her unique fever skill is a powerful emergency heal. #furry #furryart #anthro #writer #author #writerslift #booksky #art #gaming #rpg

What if my novel were an RPG? Malcolm has his best scenes in my novel when he can argue with someone. Of my 12 main characters, he is the most eloquent. His unique fever skill dodges attacks and deals massive damage. #furry #furryart #anthro #writer #author #writerslift #booksky #art #gaming #rpg

What if my novel were an RPG? Marc is the "buddy character" in my novel. He's there right from the first chapter. A truly good friend and a real go-getter. His unique fever skill absorbs a huge amount of damage. #furry #furryart #anthro #writer #author #writerslift #booksky #art #gaming #rpg

I cannot emphasize this strongly enough: I place great importance on ensuring that my novel's characters come across as authentic. They act in keeping with their personalities and evolve slowly and believably, even though the story takes place in a magical world. 1/3 #booksky #writerslift #bookboost

Next four characters are completed. By including both a positive and a negative ability, the character's personality is well emphasized. Would love to explore my own novel world in a RPG/JRPG. #furry #furryart #anthro #writer #author #writerslift #booksky #art #gaming #rpg

Well, first four characters are done. I think Jordan's and Ricarda's passive abilities could be slightly stronger (maybe by another 5%). But it's simply theory crafting. #furry #furryart #anthro #writer #author #writerslift #booksky #art #gaming #rpg

The characters care and look after each other, regardless of their background or beliefs. They act with sensitivity and empathy, just as they should. That was more than enough for me. I leave it to the reader to make up their own mind about my characters' sexual orientation. 2/2

Next week, I will speak a bit more about the (light) isekai aspect of my novel. And what better way to do that than by talking about how the characters use their elemental powers to protect what they love, to heal their companions and to crush their enemies. #writer #author #writerslift #booksky

Such as the bureaucratic headmaster Harris Campbell, who does everything he can to protect his school from harm. Or the inquisitive librarian Marjory Blanc, who devotedly explores the reason behind the journey into the world of Nyika. And many, many other interesting characters. 2/2

I wrote a few scenes after I'd already finished the manuscript. I felt they were important for highlighting my characters’ growth. One example: the introduction of Jeremy, Ricarda's little brother. The shy lynx gains a lot of confidence as the story progresses. #furry #furryart #booksky #writerslift

I know, I said it once, but I love the classic cartoon design. Lately, I got myself a couple anthro characters which are heavily inspired by this theme.

Helping paws: In typical isekai fashion, the search for allies plays a central role in my novel. Danger lurks around every corner. That's why the heroes of my novel aren't particularly fussy. Those who cannot adapt have no chance of survival in Nyika. #furry #furryart #writerslift #art #booksky

Parting ways: Even though the main goal of isekai novel characters is to find their way back into the human world, the path to achieving this is far from clear. Disagreements, or even arguments, are not unusual. Even long-standing friendships are at risk. #furry #furryart #writerslift #art #booksky

Even though the cast of characters in my novel is very diverse, I still regret it a little. Because despite the many different types of animals I use, my main characters are all students from the Kilima boarding school. If I ever write a sequel, I would like to improve upon this. #furry #furryart

One of my biggest concerns while writing my novel was that the eponymous Kilima boarding school would lose its significance as the story and the journey progressed. Fortunately, I found interesting ways to keep the school relevant at all times. #writerslift #bookboost #booksky #furry #furryart

"September 28th, daylight…" Today marks the anniversary of the day Jill Valentine began her legendary escape from Raccoon City. As a fan of the fandom, it goes without saying that my novel includes a tribute to the game series. And like every year, I will once again cross blades with Nemesis today.

Fun fact about my novel: The basis, or rather the basic idea, was to create a story that could easily be converted into a role-playing game (video game). I created the classes very early on. These are divided into three main categories. My absolute favorite: the punk class. #RPG #furry #furryart

I'm a big fan of Octopath Traveler 1 and 2. It's not surprising that I included a tiny little reference in my novel. My favorite characters from each game? Tressa, the merchant, and Ochette, the hunter.

Chapter 30 introduces a new recurring supporting character. Although she started out as just a fleeting idea, I quickly grew fond of her. The character is an allusion to one of my Guild Wars 2 characters: Kyralis, the tamer. A loner, steadfast, determined, and a real go-getter. #furry #furryart

I've reached chapter 30 with my proofreading. This and the upcoming chapters are wild. Due to certain circumstances, the 12 emissaries from Kilima are randomly divided into small groups. What will happen when the inhibited Amy has to deal with the impetuous Marc? Absolute chaos! #furry #furryart
