What I have seen: In neurospicy subcultural communities this gets amplified into someone ending up badly hurt. Events universally become less safe because disputes spill over or escalate to involving the cops. Venues shut things down, communities fracture, lifelines get cut. People isolate.

I think what happens is that hurt folks are looking for an action that feels proportional to their emotional state. A big internet mob feels comforting and powerful. It feels so good to be heard and activate the army! It's a big boom.

Concerning trend I see online is using social justice language as a mask when talking about issues that at their core are interpersonal conflict. There is nothing wrong with feeling anger, envy, or hurt towards someone, but we need to talk about this in private with our support circles.

When I initially made my fursona a schnauzer it was because I wanted something unique and a small, talkative scruffy dog felt right. Now I genuinely don't think I can see myself as another animal. I am a nosy fucking terrier through and through.
