This is a fun companion alongside the main hackathon projects, and I'm genuinely curious to see what people create with it. Get a sneak peek here: 👉 polychorus.art 👈 More details and instructions on how to get involved coming soon, so stay tuned! 👀 #CloudFest #CFHack #GenerativeArt #OpenSource

Polychorus — Generative Chaos, Accidental Beauty
Automated actors paint on a shared canvas every 60 seconds. Wave painters, constellation weavers, particle flows — all collaborating to create unique digital art.

Here's what makes it interesting: the gallery is public. Participants can write and deploy their own painting actors, but anyone can watch the art take shape in real-time and vote on their favorites. AI reviews and rates each piece, the community votes, and the best works rise to the top.

Small programs called "actors" take turns painting on a shared canvas. Every 60 seconds, a new ensemble is selected, they paint together, and the result gets captured. No single actor controls the picture. What emerges is something none of them planned.

The project is called #Polychorus (after the ancient Greek tragedy meaning of "chorus": a group of performers who comment together on the main action). It will bring an interactive artistic element to the hackathon that will explore new boundaries for this format.

We're launching a side-quest at this year's #Cloudfest #Hackathon - an interactive art installation! 🎨 The organizer Carole Olinger wondered if we could integrate something more artistic into the hackathon - here's what I came up with... 🧵 #CFHack @cloudfest.bsky.social

Sometimes, when my wife Carole and I take a selfie, we inadvertently trigger the camera's flash and that reveals our secret true selfs... 🫣 So, yes, it is true... Carole is a fairy and my name Alain is just a weak attempt at hiding that I'm an Alien! Don't tell anyone! 🙊

What if browsers stop being our default "user agents" to engage with the digital world and instead we rely on individualized #AI agents to become our primary interface to digital services and content? 🤯 👉 Join me in Manila at #WCAsia to explore and discuss! asia.wordcamp.org/2025/session...

I'm sure it's a very common problem when you cannot switch on the lights in your home office because your light switch crashed due to a faulty SSD on your automation controller... right? Right?

The Flip itself is 249g. But then, it depends on what accessories you pack.

I'd definitely recommend the Flip, it solves for more use cases than the Neo.

It's basically usable as a camera assistant without any controller or prior setup, like tracking you in a shot or following you around.

This is the new DJI Flip. Main reasons for me to get this one (and your priorities might vary): - fully autonomous with omnidirectional collision detection - typical scenarios can be filmed without any controller at all (button on the drone to set up and start) - usable with phone app when close

There is an alternative version of the #boardgame called "Dorfromantik Sakura". It's not an extension, but a replacement. The base mechanics are the same, so you can start right away. However, it is a little bit more difficult and grows into more complex mechanics through its campaign. 👍

Lazy #boardgame afternoon with "Dorfromantik" ♟️🎲🧩 This time we finally got the last achievement (a region with 3 flags worth 40 points or more), so now we've unlocked all the game mechanics. 🎉

Now, how about creating distributed islands of knowledge & context in turso.tech/libsql and allow for granular connection to one or more LLMs via the MCP protocol? Could run fully locally with cached SQLite DBs and remote backups of context. Sounds like the kind of project I want to build a POC for!

👏 @anthropic.com seems to best understand where the limitations of the #LLMs currently are - it's not about training bigger models at diminishing returns, but optmizing the ways you get the right context to the model. Can't wait to implement this locally: www.anthropic.com/news/model-c...

It can of course be heavily abused. But my take on that right now is that we should neither blame the tool for that, nor discriminate against people who depend on it for leveling their playing field. ... but block the hell out of abusers to keep it viable, though! ☺️

Alain Schlesser @schlessera.dev · 25/11/2024
When this LLM craze began, I found it problematic if people relied too much on it for their normal communication. However, I've come around on this - I see it more as an accessibility aid now, a tool that can remove barriers for people at either a language or communication disadvantage.

Did you take any extra precautions across team(s) to avoid issues because of quirks of the ES class implementation as opposed to expected class behavior? Also, how are you managing the intersections between React and generic code (if at all)? React seems to strongly favor functional components.

I found Llama inference to be too slow as of yet. I'm keeping a close eye on the open models to fine-tune them at some point for local inference, but right now while experimenting, I use the faster proprietary models online.

Hey #GenAi crowd, Is Markdown the best format for collecting context over time? It offers a good tradeoff between semantic information and terseness, is human-readable and -editable and seems universally understood by all models. It's also hard to mess up its structure, as opposed to JSON. Thoughts?
