I had spinal fusion surgery today. It went well. I'm in a lot of pain, and I'm ready for it to be over though.

As I sit here with the exact same hand injury as @willowwrestles.bsky.social (I guess we're broken metacarpal buddies now) and upcoming spinal fusion surgery in October, having watched AEW All In last night, I am in awe of anyone who chooses to do this, and in more pain from just watching.

The truth is I was ready to die 20 years ago. Everything about my life sucked and I didn't want to be here any more. Then I found Arsenal Football Club on a random Tuesday or Wednesday in January 2006. They were on ESPN and I needed a distraction, and for that afternoon, Arsenal sufficed.

In January 2006, I was making a plan to kill myself. I didn't want to be here anymore. Then I turned on ESPN in the afternoon and saw Arsenal. I don't know what it is about them that caught my eye, but something did. I kept watching. They made the Champions League final that year * lost. I cried.
