What is the opposite of "Avengers assemble!"?

Pen's the kind of person who would be the first killed in a horror movie just out of sheer inability to take any of it seriously.

They do try to pay some lip service to international cooperation in Atlantis but even then like 50% of the time it's a USAF officer person saving the day (John usually) just like it was in SG-1. It's just how the shows were made and it's hard to unsee that.

In Atlantis for the 4th season they put a USAF colonel in charge (Sam) and in a two-parter there are 4 USAF colonels who are basically the most powerful people in Atlantis (they do a cutesy joke about it). I like Stargate but it had a HUGE neoliberal USAF bias in the later seasons.

Literally the first time we see the Russian ship it explodes in the same episode. Then there was the neoliberal politics of “the system is good, just need the right people in power”.

Definitely to their credit. Though I think Stargate also then loses points for how aggressively pro-US military (specifically the USAF) it becomes especially in later seasons. Whilst in some ways it's satisfying seeing the progress. It still feels odd seeing USAF spaceships dominating space.

I would like to actually run it properly someday. Everytime I've tried it's fallen apart quickly.

Savage Rifts was my introduction to the Rifts universe and very glad it was.

There are still cultural arguments for eating real meat from real animals etc. It's really hard to put into words how deep that stuff is. We were eating meat long before we became an agrarian society. The whole hunter/gatherers thing. But I do think veganism is the future, just not this century.

Schism Navigator @schismnavigator.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

There are some strong arguments for veganism. But I think the moral arguments are actually the weakest for most people. The strongest are ones related to environmentalism, health and even economics. A lot of the "cheapness" of meat is artificial. Longterm we will probably all be vegan, but not today

It's pretty telling that the vote now is to vote Green or mass extinction of our species, and yet there are people voting against all of our interests. Why? Because billionaires have funded campaigns to make them think immigration is a more serious issue than the continuation of the human race.

Mage the Awakening is... not made to "fit" with the rest of the books in CofD. If you want one that does try Demon the Descent. They are closer to The Matrix meets H R Geiger. You are a reality warper but are in constant fear of the God-Machine.

For me it'll depend on the "tactical" side. The pain of being FPTP. My area already has too many Reform in the council so anything to keep them out is a necessity imo. Again it's always AND not OR.

As a Green party member I'd have to act surprised and confused before voting Binface. But I never said you have to vote Labour, just that you should vote AND do other things.

Vote AND organise. Vote AND direct action. Anything else is doomerism pretending to be forward thinking. But this applies to all aspects of politics for the very very few of us who try to stay engaged without becoming depressed.

Lots of AI slop on Bluesky these days. I'm starting to believe it's a lost battle when even art directors need artists to use plugins to prove their art is theirs. I still think the war is winnable though once the money burners stop.

Politics is "yes and" not a "yes or" problem. Something all of us struggle with at best.

I drew depression cat again but got really distracted by the boulder.

drawing of Katia Managan from Prequel Adventure sitting on a rather detailed boulder, with a box of sweet rolls and a bottle of milk next to her on either side. in the background is the wall and gate house of Kvatch. she is wearing her mage robe, and is looking downward toward the ground

And you'll stop using it in two months as it starts collecting dust. I love VR but unless you're into VR Chat there is just no reason to spend $1000 on a headset even if you have the money. You will not be using it beyond the first couple of months.
