The comic is based on a nightmare I once had and it comes from experiences of isolation, mental decay, and feeling like you exist in a world that is both hostile and apathetic to you. And also, it has meat monsters that I've had friends call cute xP

stuff i wrote about this art, it comes from very heavy feelings:

This is a piece that is hard to talk about, not necessarily for it being based on painful emotions (which, to be fair, it is-) but for representing a lot of things. This painting specifically came from a mis-sight I had where I thought a pigeon flew out from my kitchen and into the garden, though it turned out it was outside the entire time and it was a trick of my peripheral vision, and something about that imagery stuck with me... The garden depicted here is based on mine, and the window is based on the window for my kitchen that lets me view said garden.

I deal with a lot of stagnation and isolation in my life, much of it is a very poor survival tactic of trying to stick with routines that relatively work, but I know won't be feasible in the long run. It's suffocating, and yet I feel a lot of guilt for it, I have a decent place to stay, a bed to sleep in, and a warm garden, but I can't help but feel so restricted as it is for the most part, the only world I know. I want to do more in my life, see more things, actually get a job, but it's often not feasible for one reason or another and easily panicking when I so much as think about my future.

When I was a teenager, I had a dream I was a bird, and I flew from my home to the horizon whilst never looking back. I still think about that dream now, but of course, when you leave everything behind, where do you go? What even is there in the future? It's a endless void of possibilities, but they're possibilities I can't visualise. I often feel there is nothing for me, that I am fated to be stuck in this home and wither away on this bed at a young age due to never being able to catch up with the world around me. I watch the world go on, so much changes, but so much stays the same, I live in a entropy of constant decay and stagnation, and even doing something new feels painful, like this is what I am meant to be and my body and mind punishes me for daring to go further.

The need to go beyond, yet fearing it due to not seeing what is there, and so staying in comfort, and yet still.. the stars beckon you, because you are choking in the garden. It is not a bad place to be, but still you are suffocating, you need to leave, you need to get out and spread your wings but that hurts so much.

I think that's the best way I can describe this.

Mani here is my main smoker, his smoking is a representation of his self destructive tendencies. He doesn't even really enjoy smoking. Marjane is also a smoker though her art is still a wip. It's a habit she developed to cope with her stresses and calm herself down. It doesn't always work.

Trying to come up with titles for my next horror story after Flesh Effigy Complex, I'm debating whether I wanna go for 'Paisleys of the Static' or 'Boteh of the Static' Both words describe this symbol, but Paisley is the western name whilst Boteh is the Persian name.

So I'm currently in a standoff with my front door. I'm pretty sure the delivery driver is just as lost as I am about where my food is. My stomach just growled so loudly that my cat jumped.

I ordered about 45 minutes ago, and the tracker says "out for delivery." I'm trying to be patient, but I'm starting to consider eating the leftover cereal I've been ignoring for a month.

Just a heads-up in case I'm late to respond to anything. I'm in a food-induced coma soon. Or I'm just starting at the map on my phone, willing the little dot to move faster.

wrote a longer description of this here, im sorry if any of this may seem kinda 'rough' or unconventional, but i want to be honest about my experiences and feelings even if it's scary. All in all, I am who I am and who I decide to be.

I've had many expectations and labels and such stupid little boxes be attempted to be forced on me, it's hard to begin due to the complexity of it all. I am Persian, one fourth Kurdish, however, I was born in the UK and have never set foot in Iran nor can I speak farsi very fluently, I am disconnected from a lot of my Kurdish sides and overall, can't be aware of a lot of my cultures and the intricacies. I am queer, in ways that will not make sense to another queer that also intersect with my race. I am tired of all these boxes I am expected to fill, and being seen as less for not being a Stereotype. I am a person, first and foremost, though yes, my race and queerness is important to me, the visions one may get from hearing those labels will not apply because they are not reality, I am an experience that no one decides for me. You don't get to tell me what I am or what I'm not.

Am I less Iranian and Persian for not speaking farsi, never being able to go to Iran, being mixed, feeling a disconnect to my culture that I want to reconcile and have so much pride in, and yet highly critical of its faults and nationalism? For disliking both the religious fundamentalism and disliking the nationalist monarchists? Am I less queer, or 'dangerously' so, for being transmasculine and feminine in such intersecting ways that I may never be able to explain? For not being a 'soft' feminine and in some eyes, a Ugly Woman? For not being a 'hard' masculine and in some eyes, a Weak Man? Am I less a person of colour, for being of a race highly debated on whether we count as 'white' or not, for being so mixed innately for being of a nation that was in the middle of the Silk Road and invaded and was invaded, and yet when seen with my bushy eyebrows, bumpy nose, thicker dark hair, and tanner skin, am seen differently from a white Brit?

That is not for someone else to decide, and that is for me to find out.

I am a Queer Persian, and I am very proud of that.
