![oh yeah I did come up with like. how human/animal/etc. life force vs. spirit energy works.
consuming human life force makes it easier to interact with the material/living world, i.e. possession, becoming partially physical, other kinds of channeling, etc. (probs producing ectoplasm or equivalent metamatter too lol)
spirit energy is distinctly separate from that, in its own realm of sorts, memory traces of things that are no longer there, residual mind imprints gained form. Thought-Forms, almost: [link to Wikipedia article for Thought-Forms]
but yeah Pneuma can consume both of these and life force is what animates living things so by nature it can't really stick around in a spectral entity for long compared to spirit energy that can linger from seconds to hundreds to thousands of years.
life force, by its very nature, needs a vessel, while spirit energy doesn't.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:33oo2ktks2bdt3uzfpf5ypfv/bafkreiermsvme7utxuwaxwx5vzjhyajszwqv4n3ipz6rjzuklihguo7cue)
