Hi, I'm Neil, a Linux advocate and Linux-only gamer, from Scotland. I'm also a techie - 20 years in Networking, and 10 in Cyber Security, so basically I speak fluent TLA. I also occasionally dabble with programming (Python mainly) and retro gaming too.

Well, this explains 2026 and the car-crash issues Windows 11 has been facing. www.windowslatest.com/2026/09/05/m... In the meantime, I'll be over here on CachyOS, hoping the Linux kernel doesn't follow suit, now that Linus has opened the gates for LLM-contributions. Vibe-coding? Slop-coding.

Nearly tripling your operating loss in one year is breath-taking. But when the original loss being tripled was $3B... ...you don't get to value your "company" at $2T. Right? ... RIGHT!?!

A new low for America. And that bar is on the ground already. 1970's-style slurs from one of their most incompetent, bigoted scumbags. He probably ran the speech by his Signal buddies for their approval.

Disabled quote posts and replies, because of course they did. Whine whine whine. Maybe they asked CoPilot how to install Linux. Sorry. I'm not usually this negative, but this head-in-the-sand-stuff really gets my goat.
Screenshot of a user whining about something to do with Linux that probably didn't happen, but who knows, because replies and quote posts are disabled.

What a wildly shallow view on genAI. Anti-AI don't care about its novelty. They do care that it's built on stolen, pirated creative output with no attribution, let alone compensation. AI, ML, neural networks? Fine. LLM/genAI built illegally, loss-lead on the cheap to create dependency? Shite.

No surprise that the well-off conservatives would vote this down, after stalling it out last year in the House of Lords. They're rich enough to fly out to Switzerland, if required. The rest of the plebs just get to suffer. Disgusting. www.bbc.com/news/live/cq...

If only weapon degradation _was_ purposeful and not simply frustrating busy-work, like it is in nearly every game that features it. Once you realise Minecraft only has it to make you mine more, you really learn to resent degradation, not value it. 99% of the time, it's lazy game design.

one interesting thing so far about loudly hating AI is the way AI lovers are like "wow so you're just totally closed off to hearing another perspective??" as if their perspective hasn't been relentlessly pushed down our throats with no space to push back (particularly in professional settings)
