Is this a larval lobster? I spotted it clinging to some kelp near the wharf 2 in Monterey Bay so not exactly a lobster hot spot. Its body is about 2.5 cm long.🤿 🦞

They seemed common at both sites we dived in the bay (Aumentos and Metridium Mountain-close to the Monterey bay aquarium). Someone in the boat said that were diseased but I haven’t been able to find research about it. I hope to get out again today-probably at San Carlos beach.
