Clueless of course, but special mention to Persuasion from bbc films in mid 90s.

Gladys from Weapons all day long for me. Child 1 was and still is, terrified of Mother Gothel from Tangled. She is currently 18!!

It's of course CEOT3K, which no one has ever called it. However Super 8 needs a wee bit of love.

Parking aside the multiple Aardman films, which are the right answer, id go for Charlotte's Web. But we all know its Chicken Run!!

Resisting the urge to vote for House of Gucci just to hear Mark rant about JL, i will go for Last Night in Soho. I guess that's more Fashion adjacent.

Leaving aside Jaws, as that's both the correct and smart answer, I'd got for The Lighthouse. Bonkers but brilliant film

Scott Pilgram vs. The World all the way. How i hear you ask? Well, the gaming system is referenced through out, the Legend of Zelda chime at the start of the movie & Scott's band Sex Bob-omb is a nod to the Super Mario character Bob-omb.

Jerry Maguire or the The Player if we are going for single agents. For double agents Face/Off is so much fun

Stephen Blair @sbjblair.bsky.social · 03/03/2026
Im going down the Frankenstein adjacent road and plumping for Poor Things or The Terminator.

Preaching to the converted here (well Mark anyway), but Lynn Ramsey & Katie Dickie can do no wrong in my book. I would also add Jo Hartley to the mix of,if they are in it I am watching it category.

Of course The Shawshank Redemption is the winner but who doesn't love Con Air!

Gutted the "fun police" have ruled out some pop. I'd go then for Sally Wainwright's 2002 take on Wuthering Heights which was on the BBC and called Sparkhorse.

Evil Dead 2/1 are the obvious options but for me the smart answer is Darkman!
010
Stephen Blair @sbjblair.bsky.social · 27/01/2026
I'd go for Joker and then The King of Comedy as an unofficial prequel/double bill due to the Bobby de Niro role. And as I side note I still love Joker: Folie a Deux.

God's & Monsters seem the correct answer

Stephen Blair @sbjblair.bsky.social · 12/01/2026
I'd go a double bill of Lynch/Oz and The Straight Story. I think Mark will "shine the light" on Lollipop as the others are well known and I'd guess most of the parish have seen already.

Stephen Blair @sbjblair.bsky.social · 05/01/2026
I would plump for Internal Affairs, although Idid read it first time as Infernal Affairs (another great film). I think Mark, despite his Gere love, will go for Darkman as it has never got the glory it deserves.

That financial impact since 2003 has really hindered Celtic domestically #sacktheboard #sackthemanager

Since the Simpsons parody "The Shinning" (ep. Treehouse of Horror V) it's hard to take The Shining seriously.

Is the financial landscape since 2003 the reason why Celtic haven't had a shot on target in 80 mins vs. St Mirren? #sacktheboard

I mean, it's October, so it's a triple bill of Halloween, X, then St Maud, surely. If it's only one, Mark will go for St Maud, but Halloween always gets watched in this house.

She was one of the few who are just great in everything. When I think of New York, the three things that spring to mind are Simon & Garfunkal along with Diane Keaton, and I'm aware that she's from the west coast. However, in my head, she is the undisputed queen on NYC.
