This isn't metaphorical-it's policy. It's the liberal
Zionist playbook: oppose Netanyahu, but uphold
Zionism. Condemn armed resistance, but say
nothing of Israel's decades of ethnic cleansing.
Leah Greenberg: "Indivisible has regularly condemned
[resistance]... but we focus on the decision-makers who
are accountable to us."
Indivisible claiming that their strategy is to focus on US
decision-makers serves to create plausible deniability
for failing to directly oppose Zionism or Zionist
violence. But their strategy notably doesn't include
challenging US aid to israel, nor does it center,
Palestinian liberation. Why? Because their real goal isn't
justice, it's optics.
This is not to slander or put down those who showed up on
the 5th or to any other future protests, but so be aware of the
political messaging and who the organizers of the movement
I obviously would recommend joining any PSL/ANSWER
Coalition protest or demo, but local and smaller
organizations are also a good way to connect with your
community in a truly grassroots fashion. Stay safe, stay
woke, Free Palestine
