Texts from my friend: I wanted to share with you a message from Texas I thought would be a good fact or call to action for your audience.
I wanted to share something that happened to my 76-year-old mom in Texas yesterday because I immediately thought of you and the reach of your mic.
My mom, Margaret, has been a voter since she was 18 and has always voted. She went to a voter-registration event in Bexar County and, when they suggested she check her registration, her record couldn’t be found. She immediately filled out a new registration application.
Then she checked her husbands, and his record couldn’t be found either.
Regardless of why any individual registration has an issue, this feels like an important public-service message: Texans should check their voter registration now, while there’s still time to fix a problem, not discover it when they go to vote.

When you’re overweight it’s amazing how losing just 20 lbs can alter how you feel and move through the world. I caught myself twice last week with a newfound pep in my step that I’d forgotten I was capable of after several years of consistent weight gain. I feel great and looking forward to 20 more.
