The little mini-marathon was a success! A bit of some disaster runs but that's okay because it's all in fun. We did get a Townfall PB though!

sasambots.bsky.social @sasambots.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

I'm live with my first mini-marathon! I've been wanting to do these for a while and it will hopefully become a recurring Monday night event! I'll probably rotate runs in an out depending on how derusted I am and how long I want it to go. I'll maybe make graphics for future streams. Twitch.tv/sasam

Has @speedruncom.bsky.social said anything about the recent TOS changes or are they still keeping quiet hoping everyone just moves on? Because I'm 3 days away from removing all of my times and destroying decades of record history on boards by doing so.

I got home like 15 minutes late so I'm running late but I'm setting up for my first Monday Mini-Marathon stream tonight. Going to do a little miniature speedrun marathon of some of my games.

Doing a very short Townfall Speedrun stream, only 1 MAYBE 2 runs. Went live a little late because I was learning some new strats and routing that was found over the last few days. Twitch.tv/sasam

The Speedrun TOS News page not showing newer updates (last night I saw around 100 and this morning around 136 but the same bottom comment) shows that the site is incompetent and should focus on fixing itself instead of control or that it's malicious and hiding the negative views.

I was planning on coming back and streaming some more tonight but honestly I need a break. I've spent almost all of my long weekend streaming or doing chores, the one exception was to watch Hellraiser. I like streaming but I do find it tiring because it's like, more socializing.

sasambots.bsky.social @sasambots.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Anyways I'm making some Brunch then I'm going to get into the more nitty gritty grind of Townfall. There will be IL practice between runs.

I've been using @speedruncom.bsky.social pretty much since it launched over a decade ago. I care deeply about the history and preservation of run history and helping showcase small niche games. But unless they roll back the new TOS my Townfall run from last night will probably be my last submission.

SRC changed their terms of use yesterday, and released a news post with an FAQ. They make it sound like not a big deal. It's a big deal. The Creative Commons licence is gone. They claim ownership over the data now. Thread about what this means, and what we can do about it 🧵

SRC has been incredibly important for speedrunning history, information, and accuracy. After Elo took over, they’ve slowly jeopardized all of this. Lots of content has been removed because of their decisions. This is the last straw. If this goes through, SRC will be completely useless. Fight this.

Not a good first run but it is a first run nonetheless. Just means there's plenty of splits to PB in the next runs.

Why do speedrunners want categories where they just don't play the first five minutes of the game? I don't understand. The point of speedrunning is beating the game as fast as possible. Not playing the game is not beating the game. I do not understand this mindset at all.

I was hoping to finish learning this run and just stream some runs but some of these clips are highkey worse than anything that was ever in Homecoming. So I guess if I want to stream today I have to stream the learning process so we can all hang out out while I fail one skip for hours on end

000

sasambots.bsky.social @sasambots.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Seeing how many people are learning Townfall I don't want to hear anyone complain about Homecoming's skips ever again. Some of these skips are so much fucking worse than anything Homecoming ever had.

the brand safety panopticon has come to twitch

Streamers, wary of both AI and YouTube’s infuriatingly un-transparent hall of mirrors, are not enthused about this new development.

“Ohhh so that’s why ad revenue dropped,” longtime streamer JP "itmeJP" McDaniel said on Twitter.

“I’m genuinely worried that the sheer fact that I’m a lesbian will cause the AI to remove ads,” said Vtuber LuminusRed. “In the past I’ve tested it and confirmed that I get less ad money if I had queer-related tags on my stream like ‘lesbian,’ so I am worried this dumb AI monitoring will mean I no longer get money from ads on Twitch.”

doing some off-stream stuff tonight BUT I have 3ish horror games derusted now so I'm super close to have enough to do like, mini-marathons. I want to start next week doing a Monday night Marathon most weeks with just back to back casual runs of games I'm derusted on.
