I’ve been losing a lot of respect for people recently for either using AI slop or collaborating with horrible people. How hard is it to just not?

Ever try to stream speedruns again after a significant hiatus and get hit with the Internet/Livesplit/Capture Card not working properly wombo combo? Really makes me feel like the universe is telling me to never show my face again.

Excited for PAX West. Leaving tomorrow night and will be there until Monday afternoon. Doing a speedrun I’ve never done at a marathon before on the GDQ stage on Sunday so that’ll be fun.

GTA VI looks good. Still not getting it unless it’s released physically.

Just saw an AI-generated advertisement on YouTube using someone I know’s likeness to promote something holy fuck man.

I'm happy to report that I'm really enjoying my new job so far. It's such a huge stress reliever to have a full-time position and actual insurance for the first time in my life. Still adjusting to this new normal so not sure when I want to try adding streaming back into my life, but hopefully soon.

Project Update: - All marathons between 2022 and 2024 archived (including a few new ones I previously didn't know about that fit the criteria). - Changed up the opening page with more information about the spreadsheet. - Added a link to my Ko-fi because god damn this is taking a lot of work.

Forgot that a few days ago was actually my 9-year anniversary of discovering speedrunning. Wild that the game that got me into this journey could literally be perfected any day now.

I start my first ever full-time job tomorrow. Not sure how I'll adjust to this new schedule but I hope to also find a way to make stream/content plans around this. I'm excited I can go to PAX West in a few weeks since it's on Labor Day weekend, and hope I'll somehow be able to attend AGDQ.

Out of curiosity are there any fellow speedrunners that happen to live in or around the St. Louis area (and are willing to admit to that)?

211

GTAce @gtace.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

I've realized over time that the most fulfillment I get out of speedrunning nowadays is doing showcases and commentary rather than just grinding attempts. Those are the skills I want to focus on an keep building up, which hopefully leads to being involved in more events in the future.

Anyway the post-GDQ depression is hitting pretty hard right now. I miss everyone so much already. Sorry if I missed saying goodbye or didn't spend much (or any) time with you. These events are truly the highlights of my life and I'm forever grateful for this community. Here's some pictures.
