Free idea for any (national) politician look to prove union bonafides: Put forth a repeal of Taft-Hartley. It's something that would make a meaningful step towards empowering unions in an era when they continue to be under attack.

it is 2025 and the fact that, for many services (utilities, insurance, etc), the *only* way to contact them is via phone is ridiculous. Even if you don't have a chat available (let alone *human* chat), I should at least be able to *send an email* to be read [by a human] during business hours.

I've been eagerly awaiting the annual @nytimes.com Puzzles section (my parents get paper delivery). Surprised I hadn't seen it yet, I googled to see when it was releasing this year. I discovered it was supposed to arrive weeks ago but we never got ours. Has anyone seen them? (is this us or broader?)

When did we stop saying "Democratic" as in "member of the Democratic Party"?? I remember 10-15 years ago it being a Republican thing ("we don't want to imply that they're democratic and we're not so we'll call them the Democrat party instead") but now it seems like everyone's caved.

I have been dealing with a stupid bug with my iPad for like a year. (maybe longer?? definitely through many OS updates) For some reason turning Bluetooth off doesn't always "take". The only (temporary) fix is to reboot the device. Why is this happening????

on the one hand: Skybridge makes Ivory infinitely more useful to me. on the other hand: Skybridge's instability/unreliability makes it very frustrating sometimes to try to read bsky in Ivory. I hope the reliability improves over time. (no, I do not want to be told to use the bsky app)

@hankgreen.bsky.social (re:HPV graph) I'm curious about the data for “vax'd <17, now >28". I'm interested in the efficacy numbers for those of us who got the 1st ones. I know newer versions cover more strains + there aren't a ton of people from those days but I'd hope there's enough for data?
