Today in masiphumele we carried on working with One-Button and the Sea and the theme of pulling together after a storm physically and emotionally. Lots of language & discussion as we re - created scenes from the book & our playing at being in a storm #storypower #community #Edusky

It can’t possibly be him as this one is patterned but he must be a very close relative, probably made at the same time from the same pattern. He has had many repairs & stitches & lots of love. And now he’s all scrubbed up clean again & will be coming back to the UK for my granddaughter to love

Reassured me he had only gone travelling . And today I was in a charity shop here in Cape Town and felt a strong pull to go to the far end of the shop and look up . And there on a shelf, too high for a child to see, look what I found!!

Children facing a ‘happiness recession’ says laureate Frank Cottrell-Boyce.Total agreement with @frankcottrellboyce.bsky.social on this. Issue is not just listening to but helping chn address their fears & wonder through community enquiry using books & play.learning from, rather than teaching to

Sara Stanley @saralstan.bsky.social · 22/01/2025

Absolutely… and we need to talk WITH children about social injustice too

Sara Stanley @saralstan.bsky.social · 22/01/2025

So if you do have budget & value the power of books to enable children to become emotionally literate , learn to build communities of trust & think critically in a world of false information please look through my SM or contact for my CV 🫶🏻 or please share

But I have never had such a silent response in a world where people who put on make up can get more interactivity? It’s hard to admit to feeling undervalued & unwanted but harder to carry on asking my husband to support me financially.
