Every day since this tragedy, I’ve worked to end all the suffering, bring real peace and security to Israelis and Palestinians, and stop antisemitism and hatred of all kinds. I still think this is possible and will keep working until it’s a reality.

Even though many hostages have been reunited with their loved ones, they still carry their trauma. The loss of civilians – young people at a music festival, parents and children asleep at home – left families permanently fractured. And antisemitism has risen around the world.

I’ve spoken directly with the FBI and military leadership: there is no increased threat to San Diego. You are safe. But what Donald Trump said last night was dangerous. This illegal war needs to end.

Under Trump, toddlers are being forced to represent themselves in immigration courts – and they’re being deported when they fail to prove their asylum cases. These kids aren’t old enough to read, but they’re sitting in asylum interviews alone.

Trump’s stupid trade war with Canada continues. These tariffs won’t help Americans – instead they’ll just increase prices even more and hurt American businesses, who will be forced to pay these new taxes. This is all about Trump’s ego.

We can’t “win” the AI race if no one trusts these AI systems enough to adopt them or if they hurt people who use them. We need enforceable rules that make AI systems transparent and safe – and hold these companies accountable. “Self-policing” won’t get us there.

I’m relieved that the USS Abraham Lincoln will soon be back in San Diego, but our demand for accountability won’t end when they make port. We need to prevent this crisis from happening ever again, and ultimately end the Iran war and bring all our service members home.

I don’t blame the ship’s leadership for the conditions; they did the best they could under difficult circumstances. The blame lies with President Trump. He launched a reckless war and put these service members in the position where the conditions were so horrific that some attempted suicide.
