This is a fabulous volume. I enjoyed the chance to think about how episodic memory fits into standard phil mind (spoiler: it doesn’t), and the other chapters are are all so fun and creative. A testament tk Devin and Louise’s lovely vision of philosophy of mind today. Highly recommend!

Nobody remembers telephone numbers anymore. Memory technologies increasingly free us up to use memory in other ways. Hamish Linehan and Matthew Sims are at the Palace today, asking how this changes the normative constraints on memory, for us and for other species. #philmemory

Many ask about the function of episodic memory. But what's the point of episodic memory? We can learn interesting things about this capacity if we ask what we do with it, rather than just why we have it in the first place. Julian Bacharach (Trinity Dublin) explores this at The Palace today.

Episodic memory, as we know it now, might not have emerged at a specific point in our evolutionary history. Instead, it may have been cobbled together in a stepwise manner. Rebecca Dreier (LSE) is at The Memory Palace today exploring this possibility; take a look! #philsky #philscisky
