It's here! Faed to Black, releases today! If Gwen doesn't figure out who is killing her family, and perhaps more importantly, why, the entire Seelie way of life will come to an end. And so will Gwen. That's really not good for humanity. Links in thread!

It's been a full week of debilitating back pain (like, can't stand straight, got stuck on the couch, can only shuffle from one room to another pain). Back to the dr today. My tolerance for BS or pretty much anything is nonexistent. I'm basically Roy Kent from Ted Lasso at this point. Fuuuuuuuuuu

I somehow made it to 5yo’s karate after spending the day unable to walk without bursting into tears (yay for modern medicine). Usually I put in earplugs to deal with the sound in here, but it’s a blast metal directly into my ear holes kind of day.

I simultaneously feel like I’ve accomplished nothing and everything today.

Ok, but am I the only one who really wants to see Oliver’s play?!

How can this empty page become a full manuscript? How can this one scene become a story? How can these few pieces of ideas form a novel? How can this cobbled-together mess of a few chapters, this 20k words, this plot-hole riddled 50k words, this shitty first draft... Wait. I just wrote a book.

Fairy Godmurder is about a fairy godmother who turns her back on her responsibilities to hunt down the bastard who slaughtered her princess.

I write books! The book you can buy and read is this one, which is about an ex-imaginary friend battling trauma, anxiety, and the first serial killer to attack the land of unwanted ideas. (Said ex-imaginary friend is a stuffed triceratops PI. I make the rules.) Link: tyler-hayes.com/publications

Buckle up. I've got thoughts about the white supremacist being published in F&SF, and how a lot of y'all are treating Sheree. I guarantee some of you are about to get your feelings hurt because I see y'all doing the exact thing I'm about to talk about. 1/?

I just did a find for “eyes” in my manuscript to make sure nobody’s eyes magically changed color between chapters again. 🤦‍♀️

You know how most people get a song stuck in their head every so often? I usually have 2-3 songs playing at once, frequently in a deranged mashup, sometimes as overlays. I'm able to focus in and hear only one of them for short stints, but the others don't full fade for long.

Perhaps two weeks prior to hitting up DragonCon for what is essentially my first time is not the best time to plan buying a new house. Also, it's the beginning of the school year for my kiddos. I'm not sure my anxiety meds are strong enough for this.
