Our borough is currently running a review ‘parking & kerbside’ use. It actually only asks about parking & cars with anything else an afterthought. Other councils in London have approached it differently & this is what we would like to see in Newham! lambeth-kerbside.org

How do we fix England’s pre-apprenticeship system? 🧑‍🏭 The government is seeking to support more young people into apprenticeships as part of an effort to tackle the youth jobs crisis. If we are to achieve this, we must build effective pathways into apprenticeships.

I snapped this photo on Earlham Grove in Forest Gate the other day. Before Newham Council introduced the Atherton LTN, this street was a heavily used rat run. Today, it’s safe enough for parents to cycle home with their children. Trading a driver's shortcut for safe, everyday school runs.

It shouldn't be remarkable, but we really appreciate it when construction teams make it safe & comfortable to cycle & walk past their worksites without a "Cyclists Dismount" in sight. This example from McAleer & Rush on Stratford High Street is great! Certain utilities firms could learn a thing or 👀
A gantry of scaffolding over a footway and a separated cycleway, next to construction hoardings. The gantry is sheltered, lit inside, and has signs above marking "Pedestrians" and "Cycle Lane", and HERAS fencing provides additional protection to the cycleway. Someone cycles along the cycle lane in safety without having to dismount or merge with traffic.
