When I guested on @popculturebasement.bsky.social I was adamant I wouldn't be starting my own Podcast, so of course I started a Podcast. Listen to @timetravelswauntie.bsky.social wherever you get your podcasts.

I'm a little bit offended that there's subtitles in the Scottish songs on Last Night at the Proms

I love old newsreel footage and this is a good one - a roundup of BBC programming from their first year back after the Second World War: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc2U...

I am looking through old BBC TV listings from the 1930s for reasons and because I am a totally mature 42-year-old, a programme called 'Fashions for Cruising' from 1937 has very much tickled me

I do not begrudge the Football and Wimbledon fans their take over of the TV (not that I ever watch live these days anyway) but I'm still glad The Proms have started and now there's telly for the Classical music enjoyers.

It's taken me a wee while to get round to watching the last episode of Call the Midwife but I desperately want to see the Phyllis and Miss Higgins detective spinoff.

Just finished reading The Whalebone Theatre by Joanna Quinn. That one's going to stay with me for a while. Can't remember the last time I felt so desperate to finish a book, but so sad that it was going to have to end.

I spent 12 hours in Boston in 2024 that I was supposed to have spent in NYC due to diverted plane shenanigans, so was not keen on being there, but kind of wish I was there now just for the vibes. Not interested in the football but the atmosphere looks fun.

I'm not really interested in the World Cup but I am very much enjoying the people of Boston discovering the phenomenon of the Tartan Army

I must have been surprised the first time I watched it but I am honestly astonished by the fact that the prologue of Eternals ends with Time by Pink Floyd.

One of the challenges I have set myself is to walk as many of Scotland's Great Trails as possible. So far I've done the Fife Coastal Path, The Fife Pilgrim Way, Forth and Clyde/Union Canal Towpath and the John Muir Way. This year I'm going for The Rob Roy Way that goes from Drymen to Pitlochry.

8th Columbo: Mandy Patinkin
9th Columbo: Eugene Levy

I've done my first podcast and I loved it for a number of reasons: I love a chat, I got to chat to @mikejamison.bsky.social whose enthusiasm and knowledge of so many things is truly amazing to behold and I got to chat about one of my favourite literary characters of all time.

When I started this account I vowed to myself I was only going to use it to (sporadically) post about things that bring me joy and the occasional review of films/TV/books but... I am so tired of people more powerful than me making decisions that are always negatively impacting my life.

Written English has barely changed in 300 years. If you can read Harry Potter, you can read Robinson Crusoe (1719).

Took my cat for her yearly health check so she's now finding it necessary to groom every inch of herself to remove the smell of vet. She got her tea as soon as we got home so I think I've been quickly forgiven.
