This was one version of my week (7am before it got too warm). The other one was dealing with a young person with a major health emergency overseas. I cannot stress enough how much difference it made to have a brilliantly supportive boss, an emergency savings account, and a self-employed travel agent

I mean what else would be on the A30? I hunted for the jam lorry and realised it scone.
It’s a clotted cream lorry on the main road in Cornwall!

I love it when people show confidence in my abilities. Shout out to the person who parked here in the knowledge I was ready to step up my low-speed-manoeuvre game.

I’ve booked a driving test for my youngest - the day before her instructor retires. It only took 6 months - getting up at 5 to find the optimum moment to join the queue, then lightning fast responses to app notifications at all hours. I’ll hear that app ping in my dreams. A flawless system.

This pint is definitely feeling more festive than I am. If I don’t perk up soon, I’ll need to pull the emergency cord on The Muppets Christmas Carol.

The Xmas tree fell over and smashed loads of baubles - including the heart my late Dad bought for me in Russia about 20 years ago and the one my husband and I bought after we got engaged. It’s just stuff. It’s the people and the memories that matter. I’m officially not sad. It’s just dusty in here.

When the builders removed the cladding on the renovation house, they found something surprising lurking there - sealed in behind the wall. It feels like the result of a sibling feud to me…

The ‘insulation’ phase of the house renovation enters it’s 6th week. The money we’re saving on heating bills means the work will pay for itself eventually…after maybe 2 or 3 hundred years
