Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 22/10/2025This book means so much to me. The Bridge to Nowhere started as a story about grief—but it became one about hope. It’s officially out now. 💙 www.amazon.com/dp/B0FW5F4MKN #newrelease #amreading #fiction #womensfiction #indieauthor #indieauthors #bookrecommendation #bookish ⏰📚amazon.comThe Bridge to NowhereThe Bridge to Nowhere - Kindle edition by Burr, Sarah. Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 01/09/2025I just got the cover of The Bridge to Nowhere out next month! I’m super excited about it! I’m thrilled with how it turned out! #writing #writingcommunity #paranormalromance 131
Reposted by Sarah BurrGreg Pincus @gregpincus.bsky.social · 29/07/2025#kidlitchat is here again, as regular as the tides (though without the same, long history). Every Tuesday at 9 PM Eastern/6 PM Pacific, including tonight, we #kidlit lovers gather and chat, now here on Bluesky (where we signed up before the tides, I must note). I hope you'll join us! 3309
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 04/06/2025Fun! I haven't been to a ren faire in a long time but really enjoyed them as a teenager. #kidlitchat 240
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 04/06/2025So glad everything turned out well! Congratulations on your book. #kidlitchat 030
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 04/06/2025Doesn't it, though? Septembers have a way of sneaking up on you. 120
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 04/06/2025That's great! At the beginning of the year, I thought about launching another kickstarter, but kind of lost steam. Maybe I'll look at it again. I really enjoyed the first one (when it was done; it was a little anxiety provoking at certain points, lol.) #kidlitchat 110
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 04/06/2025That's awesome! I did a kickstarter years ago (sounds like on a much smaller scale) and it flet so good to get everything finished and sent out. Good for you! #kidlitchat 120
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 04/06/2025Congratulations! Thats so much. Somehow with that and the names of a couple of your stories, I'm picturing a squirrel spinning plates. Way to go! #kidlitchat 020
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 04/06/2025Congratualations on your re-retirement (and your final edits!) #kidlitchat 020
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 04/06/2025#kidlitchat I went to Storymakers conference & spoke to 2 agents about 2 novels. I revised the query letter for one, am doing another pass and plan to keep querying. I'm planning to self-publish the other. Also, I'm in the planning process of cowriting a time-loop nursery rhyme tie-in with a friend. 070
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 10/05/2025The Punch Up you Fight Scenes class at Storymakers Conference. Thank you Brandon Chambers and Colby Dunn. This needs to be a 3 hour workshop! #writing #writingcommunity 020
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 09/04/2025Music and musicians. I get obsessed with different bands and music and it makes its way into my writing. Time and time again there’s at least one musician character in each of my novels, and if someone’s a musician there’s gotta be at least one scene of a performance, right? #kidlitchat 240

The industry and community is scattered and algorithms are currently siloing us off. Go to cons, festivals, screenings + launches, and other art events. While social media is still shifting, invest in face to face. 602670385

Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 21/02/2025Yeah, actually I’ve decided to try it again and just see how it goes because I’ve been spinning my wheels with my current WIP. Wish me luck.🤞 110
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 20/02/2025But since then, I haven’t been able to plot even at that level. I find it sort of soul sucking and de-motivating. I kinda wish I could plot so I could avoid the structural issues that require major revisions after the first draft. 110
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 20/02/2025The first novel I wrote I sort of plotted. I’d read a blog post that suggested taking a book you like and writing a phrase to encapsulate each chapter like, “POV meets a mysterious stranger,” “POV goes on a trip,” “POV is disappointed,” etc, and then use those to write a completely different book. 110
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 19/02/2025Very wise. How did you make this transition? Was it intentional or did it happen organically? #kidlitchat 110
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 19/02/2025Very true. I can't seem to be a morning person or neat and tidy either. Maybe this is the essential "pantser" personality. Lol #kidlitchat 140
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 19/02/2025I do tend to write mostly from beginning to end (as winding as that journey may be,) but if I'm feeling a bit stuck or bogged down and I know a more exciting scene is coming up, I'll skip ahead and then write back up to it. #kidlitchat 060
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 19/02/2025I'm a pantser. I've often wished I was a plotter for the sake of efficiency and have tried multiple times to become one, but I've had to accept that my process is my process. #kidlitchat 380
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Totally! And this reminded me of another way I use technology--text to speech. I have my computer read my book to me when editing. I hear so much that I would miss otherwise (homophones are still a problem, though.) #kidlitchat 470
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Impressive! I agree. I sometimes find it much easier to start on my phone than anywhere else. #kidlitchat 120
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025I was halfway through writing a novel about a drug addict working in a mental hospital for vampires, when I realized it was pretty much entirely inspired by a song I love ("Steal Smoked Fish" by The Mountain Goats.) #kidlitchat 130
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Oh, that's really cool! I'd love to read it. Also, now I want cookies...#kidlitchat 020
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Lot's of people are saying Scrivener. Maybe I should give it another try. #kidlitchat 260
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025I'm trying to think of what it means to talk about digital topics in an analog way. I'm intrigued! #kidlitchat 120
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Do you have to have a Mac to do this? I always email my notes to myself. It works all right, but does take a bit of extra effort. #kidlitchat 000
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Music can be really helpful. Sometimes, I'll play a single song on a loop. It seems to make it feel like time is frozen, and I can get into the flow that way. But you're right, other times, it's totally a distraction. #kidlitchat 260
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025I journal with pen and paper. I try to write three pages this way everyday and sometimes about half way through an entry about what happened yesterday, I'll start writing my novel to transcribe later. #kidlitchat 030
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Wow! Way to go finally sharpening those pencils! #kidlitchat 030
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Smart! I probably need to start using Alexa to make it workable, though. I've resisted this whole time. #kidlitchat 010
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025Honestly, think I average about 1/4-1/3 of each novel written on my phone. Even if I'm at home, sometimes it feels so much easier than getting out the computer and turning it on. #kidlitchat 360
Sarah Burr @sarahburr.com · 12/02/2025 I write three ways--with a pen and notebook, into my phone either using the notes app or the m365 app, and typing into Word on the computer. I've bought other software over the years, but went back to Word because it's familiar and feels easy. #kidlitchat 160
