I had a wonderful time at the Northwest GIS User Group conference. Highly recommend for PNW geospatial folks. In fact, there were some who traveled beyond PNW. High quality sessions, great food and activities, and friendly people 🗺️

As a geography grad student, this article was one of the things that shifted my cartography perspective. Maps represent spaces of differing realities. I stumbled across the article. I wish it was a foundational text for all geographers. #cartography

Update: Sister is self evacuating from the fires due to extremely poor AQI. 1700 at the sensor down the road from her. The smoke is choking them out. So she’s coming here! Yay for me. Sad about the reasons.

Thanks, yeah it’s becoming an annual dance for them due to climate change. She has a farm full of pigs that they’d need to move among other animals. I hope it doesn’t come to that. Some of the local hotels are offering free stay for evacuees. I don’t think they’d take the pigs though 😂
