genuinely heartbreaking that ann and ryuji are the least popular phantom thieves in japan. they're such sweethearts... they and mona are all that make the first palace arc bearable... ann and ryuji if you have one fan it's me. if you have no fans i'm gone from this world

090

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

it's flanderization yeah. i mean ryuji being an akechi hater is canon sure, but when it's the ONLY characteristic he gets... also a lot of fics will characterize him like this even post-canon when that's not even true 😭 his anti-akechi agenda stopped in the engine room

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

sorry i'm bitching so much today i'm filling out my seasonal quota

010

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

ryuji is either the main akechi hater or a stupid idiot or both. ann is either ryuji's girlfriend or akechi's girlbestfriend. and she Always has to play matchmaker for akeshuake

140

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

the things they are doing to ann and ryuji in akeshuake fanworks are inhumane... it's like seeing an animal in a badly sized enclosure

140

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

on the subject of p5 trios i NEED akeshuakes to appreciate shujin trio more like i am no longer asking

140

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

nothing but respect for royal trios who see how little there actually is in canon and say "i will take a hammer and FIX the dynamic". time honored tradition in fandom. it's the people who insist they're the strongest canon dynamic in the game that annoy me

060

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

if you want to argue this point i don't mind as long as you act normal about it. but first can you name one meaningful interaction between *all three* of them besides that one time they went to the cafe and akechi tricked sumi into shit talking the thieves in front of joker

020

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

i think people see "sumi has a strong arc in third semester" and mistake that for sumi having a strong dynamic with joker and akechi. like i'm sorry but she doesn't. they're in the room to witness her big identity reveal scene and that's about it

120

riff 🌸🌹 @saradabaa.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

why is it always either "royal trio is the backbone of third semester" or "akechi is joker's acquaintance at best". like why the extremes with no middle ground. You are literally both wrong

p5/dh2 similarities - persecuted/exiled for crimes you didn't commit - sometimes doing weird mind torture is worse than killing - dead mother backstory - yes the horrors are endless but you've got to serve - god gives you powers if you're ̶e̶n̶t̶e̶r̶t̶a̶i̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ cool enough - everybody's bisexual
