The chair of the Sheffield Autism Partnership Network has stepped down, and sadly VAS can no longer host the network and Autism project work. A consultation and transformation piece is being carried out with members to decide how to proceed with the network, and VAS are supporting this process.

We have the opportunity to reshape what the network looks like, and to do this, I need to know what members value about the network and what you'd like to see in the future. Scan the QR code or visit bit.ly/m/SheffieldAutismPartnershipNetwork to do the survey or register for the in-person session!

This new training programme will give frontline VCSE staff the tools and resources to recognise signs of crisis, and empower you to support and protect your community.
You’ll be given free training on suicide awareness and prevention for priority groups, and be part of an ongoing network of support.
Visit bit.ly/spchamps or scan the QR code to find out more and submit your application.

A QR code is below the text, and green abstract line shapes surround the page. At the top of the page are the logos for Sheffield Autism Partnership Network, Mental Health Partnership Network and Sheffield City Council

my statement as network chair regarding the recent supreme court ruling. full text in ALT 🏳️‍⚧️✊🏻
I strongly oppose the recent Supreme Court ruling, which attempts to define 'sex' on the basis of biology in a deliberate attempt to discriminate against an already marginalised group. To quote the British Medical Association's Junior Doctors wing, this ruling is 'scientifically illiterate' and 'biologically nonsensical'.
Whilst I do not offer a physical delivery space, it is important to note that the so-called 'bathroom ban' is just the beginning of a targeted campaign to strip trans* people of their rights and the ability to exist and engage in public life.

To reiterate a previous point: The Sheffield Autism Partnership Network is committed to intersectional practice, and there is no disabled liberation without liberation from all forms of oppression. This includes transphobia and all forms of bigotry targeting the LGBTQ+ community.
The network has a zero-tolerance policy for transphobia and for any attempts to define a person based on their physical attributes or behaviour instead of their self-determination.

To all trans* people, whether Autistic or not, you have my full support to live in whatever gender identity or expression feels most comfortable. You know who you are better than anyone else ever could.
