Idk if it’s the city or the amount of fellow immigrants, but it’s much easier to speak Finnish in Helsinki than in Tampere. Ppls here are either used to someone struggling to speak, occasionally switching to English& back, butchering the grammar, or they just dgaf, but it’s nice

It also makes me wonder… i totally see the point behind the laws that treatment against one’s should be impossible. At the same time, from my experience, I am not sure whether it protects the vulnerable or those around them. It’s kind of pushing you to wait for the worst.

Mother has been trying to make amends without apologising for abusive language the other day. I am not letting her brush it off. It feels awful and scary to realise she has no other person left, but at the same time standing up for myself heals me. When she hangs up, I feel good.

My dad who passed away 14 yrs ago last night ❤️‍🩹I remember how I was angry at myself for being a snarky teenager w him, because how was I stupid to think he’d never die. I woke up from a nightmare. Cried. Couldn’t fall asleep again. Checked the date - Sep 28th. My dad passed away Sep 29th, 2012. This date still haunts me. Sometimes it comes and goes, other times I become an anxious mess around those days.
