Same. My degree was psychology. But I think most medieval history we are ‘taught’ is the Victorian ideal of how it should be, with added “made for tv” stereotypes-with no logic or consideration to how people really live. Particularly women and children.

I’ve noticed in my research into the Langley family that there’s logic to the land acquisition too. Each of their “bases” across the family is about a days travel from the next. That’s not coincidence. Also none of the places are called Langley. That’s just an added layer of fun.

I’ve got two kids, 11 yrs apart and home educated. They have unrestricted screen time, as I don’t believe it’s a thing. They have unrestricted book time, play time, sleep time… anyway what hurts kids most is when their self esteem is low. iMO. That’s when they are most vulnerable to bad stuff.

What about putting a trans female into the toilets where all these predators are? Is that safer? Or does she somehow deserve or ask for trouble? How about trans men, where do they go? Does he know they exist as well or are they ok? How about we let people use bathrooms in peace? Same with disabled.

Xmas has started: 5 year old doesn’t believe in Santa, wants ‘peace and quiet’ off him for Xmas & the Nativity story is ‘so funny. Babies don’t want sheep presents’. My eldest refused to believe as he ‘never published his success criteria’, and has to smell the decorations before they go up.

This is what home education looks like here: 1) many trips to wales, to collect rocks and to visit castles. 2) Big one comes with me to exciting things as they’re my carer and so is my voice, gopher and responsible adult 3) working together or side by side with small one 4) exploring the arts

Listening to talk about education on @mrjamesob.bsky.social and never been more certain that I did the right thing home educating my kids. I left teaching in 1998 and there was no way they were taking my child’s spirit too, and I pulled her out of the same school I’d taught at in 2018.

“Elfshot” is my preferred term for fibromyalgia. An Anglo-Saxon way of describing a condition which felt like you’d been shot by lots of elf arrows. With the invention of the motor engine though, it could be updated to ‘Elf Shot, and then reversed over by an elf truck’

I woke up with so many plans. Fibromyalgia has the upper hand today unfortunately. I was hoping I would finish my end notes before it started getting too hard to deal with 🥹 Time to get the laptop out instead of the desktop, and strategically placed cushions so I can write in bed!

I do my best to go through spaces like this, causing the loudest noise and chaos. I’m the same in shops. Luckily I can walk this far-but they don’t appreciate that wheelchair users quite often have decent muscles in their arms, and a rage caused by constant pain

I agree, but Different condition, I have fibromyalgia, and every December I have to have the talk to my husband that however convinced I seem at the time, I want to live. In my worst, over Xmas usually, as the pain is physical and mentally at its worst, I beg, scream, cry and often try.
